Guest beachlover Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I despise hotels that still charge for internet. All the Shangri-La/Traders hotels have complimentary broadband internet, which always attracts me. Quote
Guest travelerjim Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 GT, Good for Hilton and its valued customers with status. FREE internet and wireless connections is the wave of what is happening all over the travel industry NOW! Competition is driving the FREE internet revolution...as it should be FREE ...IMHO. If a hotel offers FREE wireless and internet connections, I will choose it over others who charge for it. I am now looking over hotel options for Orlando later this year, and FREE internet and wireless will get my business. Even in USA, all Starbucks offer FREE wireless in their stores... a competitive move on their part..and welcomed! tj Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I am glad to hear that there is something free at the Hilton...now if they had free rooms or Cheap rooms, I would be fine!! Quote
Guest Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 FREE internet and wireless connections is the wave of what is happening all over the travel industry NOW! It is in the USA for sure. But, foreign places charge out the ass for Internet. Including Thailand and Pattaya. I think most hotel chains here charge around 700 baht for 24 hour access. I agree with you that it should be FREE in every hotel! Regardless. But, we are a long way off at this point. BTW: The Marriott in Pattaya comps their Platinum members free Internet as well. Not all Marriott's will do that but the one in Pattaya does. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Has the Hilton on top of Central Festival Mall opened yet? Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I think Phuket is the worst (that I have been to) in Thailand in charging for internet... Don't think I've stayed in a single place where they didn't charge extra for it. Some of them charge 500 or even 1,000 baht per day for access. Quote
