TotallyOz Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 The Corner Bar in Sunee is a great place and their food is excellent. Their Cajun Chicken Fingers are yummy and very reasonable. If you are in the area, drop by the bar and try them for dinner. They are well worth the money! Quote

They seem to have good food sales to some of the surrounding bars too. Quote
Gaybutton Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 The hamburger with choice of french fries or onion rings is also very good. I'm going to give it a try soon. I haven't yet. But I must say that to date the best hamburgers I've ever had in Thailand were cooked on a grill at a very nice party, poolside, at beautiful home just behind Cherry's. I think you may have met the homeowner. I believe if you ask him very nicely he just might give you an opportunity to try them some time . . . Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 For me the best burgers I have found in Thailand are at Mike's in Chiang Mai. Quote

Bob Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Can you tell us a little more about it? I, for one, am not familiar with it. Where is it? There are three "Mike's" that I'm aware of - one on the west side of Nimmanhaemin (about Soi 4), one on the east side of the moat on Chaiyaphum (spelling?) Road, and a small one in Anusarn Plaza (the food/restaurant plaza between Chang Klan and Charoen Pratet about a block south of the night market). Their slogan: "Converting vegetarians since 1979." They do make a mean burger and I also enjoy the malts, french fries, hot dogs with bacon, etc.. Quote

I was there yesterday, but they have not seen Gaythailand on this trip, yet he has been seen eating at Salt and Pepper, Cafe Soi Day and Night, The Corner bar now have on offer a wonderful big steak for you to enjoy but as they have now confirmed they cater for those who like lady boys and guys dressed as women if you don't like to look you can but all there snack from any bar In sunee plaza and eat any where you care to sit. Even though I was eating at Bordeaux restaurant, it was good to see it full, even though it was pooring down with rain out side, but over the road from Chez Vicky and did see some familiar faces one was Mr Button him self. Bob, while Mikes is an old time Chiang Mai institution the best burgers in town are found opposite Mikes on Chaiyaphum Road at a place called "Pinks". Great burgers, chili dogs, frys, etc. I will take you the next time you are in town and you will see what i mean. Quote
Gaybutton Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 over the road from Chez Vicky and did see some familiar faces one was Mr Button him self. Soooooo, spying again! Yep, that's where I was. Did you happen to notice what I ate too? Yes, it was a downpour last night. I was lucky. I left just as it started to drizzle. By the time I went up Pattaya Tai to Sukhumvit, less than ten minutes later, Sukhumvit was flooded to the point that the water was up to the door level on cars. Within ten minutes! I'm glad to see that Pattaya has brought the drainage problems under control . . . Quote
Guest Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 I was there yesterday, but they have not seen Gaythailand on this trip, LOL Since they spoke to me and said hi, I guess they have the memory loss problem. LOL Although, I am not a memorable person I guess. Quote

While I like my Thai food, a good old greasy hamburger or cheeseburger seems to make it into the diet once a week. Haven't had lunch yet and the chili dogs you mention sound pretty good at the moment. Quote
Guest rainwalker Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 There's also a Mike's on the ground floor past the Food Court of Kad Suan Keaw, the old shopping mall, on Huay Keaw Road. The gay landmark nearby is Soho Bar. Quote

Guest travelerjim Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 LOL Since they spoke to me and said hi, I guess they have the memory loss problem. LOL No memory loss problem GT... the owner was seen dozing off in the Corner bar last night... Although, I am not a memorable person I guess. GT...How they could not remember you in almost unbelievable... especially as you were peering straight at the ladyboy waiter! And the fellas seated in the USA Reserved corner of Corner Bar were amazed how you keep your walker safe while inside the bar... Had a fun night? Sure hope so..the Expat Corner Bar musician was happy to see you... he shows up nearly every night...and the BIG TIP was appreciated... times are tough these days with the loss in value of the Aussie dollar to the Thai baht! However, GT, you were sighted leaving Pattaya today... sure hope you had a great night out during your stay! tj Quote
