Have to tell you, Moses, I’m feeling pretty good about now. Have gotten you to make a dozen posts full of nonsense and self promotion. Sure, you derailed the thread but it demonstrates that things can’t be that busy on the SR front if the boss can take that amount of time to talk to dead folks.

And why do you choose to continue to post your political nonsense to dead people?

Is this forum for everyone?

If you will scroll back, you will find, what all my posts were about visas. Until Russophobes started to derail it.

Yet you didn't respond to these stats??

https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/frequently-requested-statistics-immigrants-and-immigration-united-states-2024

Worldwide, the United States is home to more international migrants than any other country, and more than the next four countries—Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and the United Kingdom—combined, according to the most recent UN Population Division data, from mid-2020. While the U.S. population represents about 5 percent of the total world population, close to 20 percent of all global migrants reside in the United States.

Schengen-style, visa-free travel in practice means seamless travel through the signatory countries without the burden of undue passport inspection. The concept creates a much more welcoming environment for tourists by simplifying the multi-entry process by air, sea and land. Given the hesitancy of ASEAN in agreeing any major policy changes and its history of non-intervention in the domestic affairs of member states, a joint visa plan by Thailand and her neighbors remains a worthy dream under discussion since 2010. ASEAN will sleep on it.

It's not very clear from this article that when they mention a Schengen-type visa, are they just talking about a visa that allows you to enter in any of the ASEAN countries or they are talking about no border controls among ASEAN members by land, sea or air?!

If it's the former, I don't see much benefits for most of the members of this forum, maybe only being able to stay up to 90 days in places like: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos or Thailand where now you can only stay up to 30 0r 60 days.

If it's the latter then the people more happy about it will actually be the citizens of the poorer ASEAN countries like: Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos as it will make it way more easier to work (although illegally) in the richer ASEAN countries like Singapore and Brunei, or even Malaysia and Thailand. Honestly, don't really see that happening anytime soon.

Even in Europe poorer countries like Romania or Bulgaria only joined the Schengen area much later and after strong opposition, even though they had been EU members for a while. I can't imagine Singapore letting anyone from Myanmar or Laos pouring in their city without any checks.

When I mentioned no one wants to STAY in Russia and you replied with some chart, trying to insinuate that Russia was on the same level as first world countries....but the stats I shared don't fit with your narrative 🙄

You're the one who brought up the subject.

You are victim of Western propaganda.

Welcome to real world: Russia is third in World and next after US country by incoming migration.

And to talk about Australia is funny: whole continent has population just a little bit more than population of Moscow and 10 mln less than living in Jakarta (Indonesia).

This is the post he and I are referring to where you started talking about migration.....propaganda is like telling lies, hard to keep them straight after awhile.

So, guys, which one of your countries is visa-free for Thais?

None of the countries where a Thai would like to emigrate and stay to work/live.....

Does Thailand make it easy for foreigners to immigrate.....what do they do when someone overstays their visa free stay??

It is about tourism... do you count your self as immigrant in TH?

Of course Russia doesn't put on those restrictions. You need all the help you can get to persuade people to travel there!

Urban legends? Again Sun or Daily Mail? :))))

Inbound tourism grew: in 2024 in first quarter Russia got 4 times more of inbound tourists than in first quarter 2023.

As usual Chinese and Turkish ppl are on 1 and 2nd rows. Surprisingly on 4th row Germany.

No, I followed the link that you provided which showed that in 2023  Russia, even without visa restrictions as you describe, was only proportionately the 71st nation in popularity for net migration.

Whereas many other countries, even those with significant entry restrictions, still attracted proportionately more migrants. EG most of Western Europe, US, Canada.

This is the link that you provided

Yeah, and number 1 and 2 are Syria and Ukraine. Do you want to continue compare countries by proportional net migration?

If so then Venezuela is 39 points above United States. Do you want to discuss quality of life in both countries?

Oh now you prefer to discuss the quality of life, not the statistics that you introduced!  Of course!

No. I prefer to discuss trends. You saw trends in World Bank pic. As I wrote 2022 and 2023 are fluctuations because of Ukraine - in 2022 Russia got a lot of refugees and it gave giant spike in surplus, and in 2023 many of then slowly dissolved to many other locations outside of Russia and that gave huge minus. But in general Russia last decades performing better than most EU countries

YOU brought migration into the equation....then try to pivot back to visas, You could give visa free entry to Hell, does it mean that's a good deal??

Depends on how you are judging performance. You appear to be judging it by the more migrants Russia can achieve the better the performance. EU countries in contrast are trying to reduce/control migration and making it harder to access their countries.

EU countries receive significant migration from all over the world while Russia's migration is predominately from former USSR countries.
