TotallyOz Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 We are going to have a photo contest. The rules are simple. 1. Post your photos here and post as many as you like and want to enter. (They can't be photos that you posted last year for the contest. You are still welcome to post those entered last year but none of them will be eligible for this years contest prize). 2. The photo must be original and taken by the poster who posts it. 3. The photos will be judged by a group of impartial judges with the top 10 selected 10 days before the All Forums Meet and Greet. 4. The top ten will be voted on by the members here and the winner will be the ones with the most votes. Only one vote per registered. Prizes will be given away on night of our choosing. If unable to attend, we will find a convenient date when you are in Thailand for the prize. The Prize is a bottle of Chivas Regal Scotch Whiskey. Quote
Guest tdperhs Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 May I post the photo I use for my avatar? It has never been entered in any competition. Quote
PattayaMale Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Do we need a release form from the guy in question? (If used for commercial purposes). If the guy is Cambodian but lives in Thailand will that still count? I don't want to lose on a technicality....you know how Gaybutton can be!! lol Quote
Gaybutton Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I don't want to lose on a technicality....you know how Gaybutton can be!! lol Oh, don't worry. I'll find one. Besides, I don't see anything that prohibits the moderators from entering, so you never know. I just might enter, doctor up the results if I have to, and go home with a bottle of whiskey. Well, on second thought, no I won't do that. I don't drink whiskey anyhow. Now, if GT gets some boys to draw the winning name out of a hat, maybe after all you'll take the whiskey home. I'll take the boys . . . Quote
Guest Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Tricky one. Nude photos are not allowed. Is photoshopping on some swimming trunks in the spirit of the competition? (Not that I'm suggesting anyone might have such photos ). Next is the matter of consent. Are we insisting that the person in the photo has consented to it being posted on the net? Or if he's adequately dressed & not in a compromising position, would it be deemed OK? Quote
Guest Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 May I post the photo I use for my avatar? It has never been entered in any competition. yes, you may if you took the photo. Do we need a release form from the guy in question? (If used for commercial purposes). If the guy is Cambodian but lives in Thailand will that still count? No need for a release form. It is not a nude and we will NOT use for commercial purposes or advertising. It is only a fun forum contest. Is photoshopping on some swimming trunks in the spirit of the competition? ChristianPFC Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Does the "sexy" in "Sexy Thai Boy Contest 2010" imply that he should be at least shirtless? Or is this just my dirty mind? Although I don't consider this picture very good (maybe it's at least an incentive for others to submit better pictures) and I don't have the boy's consent for publishing it here (well, he works in a bar, that's how he ended up in my hotel room, so it should be no problem) it fits the subject. Gaybutton Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I don't have the boy's consent for publishing it here Then why did you? Quote
Guest Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Then why did you? See above: No need for a release form. It is not a nude and we will NOT use for commercial purposes or advertising. It is only a fun forum contest. As far as consent, it is your photo and photographers hold the copyright to them and it is not nude and it is up to you. If anyone thinks their subject model would object to having the photo here, then don't put it up by any means. But, that seems like a cute innocent photo. IMHO Quote
Gaybutton Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 See above: No need for a release form. It is not a nude and we will NOT use for commercial purposes or advertising. It is only a fun forum contest. The fact that it is not nude, but "sexy" is fine, but I don't think it's appropriate to post "sexy" photos of these boys without them at least having first been asked if it's ok with them. Suppose it isn't? If I was one of these boys who had posed privately for a farang customer, and then discovered that my photos had been posted on the Internet without my knowledge or consent, I wouldn't appreciate it. I might not find it to be so much "fun" and I might take it more seriously. I think people should at least ask first, especially if it turns out the boy doesn't want his photos placed on the Internet. What do you say to the boy later if he finds out how his photos were used, but nobody ever asked him? He might think it's funny. He might also be mad as hell. Over the years I've seen both reactions. If nothing else, I think it's at least a matter of courtesy. I really don't think if these boys posed privately for sexual photos with a customer, now he forfeits the right to be asked if there is any problem about posting them on the Internet, even if it's non-nude and just for fun. It's not something I would do. In my opinion, if a boy posed for photos he knew were going to the Internet or if he placed his photos on sites such as Gay Romeo, now he's fair game. He knew how his photos were to be used. But when he posed privately for a farang and did not know his photos might end up on the Internet, to me that's a different story. While I realize there is no commercial purpose behind this contest, maybe the following "Judge Judy" illustrates the point I'm trying to make: Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wcF8GLKeTo Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezoFCnYIsmY Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I love Judge Judy and miss watching her on TV. Quote
Gaybutton Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I love Judge Judy and miss watching her on TV. You don't have to miss her anymore. Go to YouTube and search for Judge Judy. There's dozens of them there. I'm a big fan too. That's how I found the one I posted. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I would prefer to watch on TV, but You Tube is an option. Quote
Gaybutton Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I would prefer to watch on TV, but You Tube is an option. In Thailand there aren't too many other options. You could always download the ones you want, put them on a DVD, and then watch them on TV. Personally I prefer that anyway. No commercials. Quote
ChristianPFC Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 What I wrote above "I don't have the boy's consent for publishing it here" is ambigous. I do not want to say that I asked him and he said no. I want to say that I didn't ask him but from the circumstances of our meeting from what we talked about I assume that he wouldn't object. Quote
Guest Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 You could either take the interpretation that if he consents to photos being taken & does not specify how they should be used, he does not mind. Alternatively, there is the interpretation that consent must be sought. I guess there might be fewer entries with this interpretation. Then there is the issue of whether the photo can be viewed only by members, or any visitor to the site. Limiting circulation to members reduces the chances of aunty stumbling upon the photo & the resulting embarrassment. Having logged out & checked the thread, I'm rather surprised to see some photos can only be viewed by members, but the You Tube video and my picture can be seen without logging in. I had expected logging in would be necessary to view the picture. I have un-approved it, pending clarification of this point. Quote

As you see, I always Attach them using the button Attach Files at the bottom of a reply. I do this so that logged in members are the only ones that can view them. If you insert a photos via url, that makes it available to the world. I hope this makes sense. Quote

What a very nice underwear he wears. did he buy by himself?. I think inside the underwear ia also OK Quote
Guest Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 What a very nice underwear he wears. did he buy by himself?. I also thought that. It's unusual to find such fine underwear on a Thai, although fortunately most look good in anything. Quote
