Popular Post musgrave Posted June 17 Popular Post Posted June 17 Last week had four days in Bangkok - stayed at Tarntawan - deluxe room was okay but myself being older getting in and out of the tub/shower needed caution - no useful rails. I ventured for old.time sake to Super A on the first night for an hour. About 8 lads there all wearing white shirts. Looked like reasonably new settees along the wall with several tables. Super A gone upmarket ?? A different vibe from 5 or so.years ago although the upstairs room stil available and the annoying habit of the mamasans sittng closeby remains.Off fee 500 thb. Drinks 200 thb. Moved on to Freshboys - saw some of the show, Nice boys dressed in white shorts. A tall lean Viet lad who does the shows always takes my interest No 28. I find the shows there entertaining and varied - lots of nakedness and action. But the frequent requests for a drink or tip from others even when you have a lad sitting.with you becomes wearing. The cabaret diva dressed in red was spectacular. 400 thb drinks After that i went to a very crowded GoodBoys ( exScrewboys).20+ plus lads dressed in white briefs. My fancy was taken by short slim moustached tattooed lad who was great company. The shows there seems to be cabaret focussed with a few intermittent boy (?) acts - i get the impression these acts are part of a circuit troupe. I returned the next night and the place was about one third full Sadly I succumbed to Bangkok belly next day and all fun activities ceased Photos of work at Raya Hotel - and the old Soi - and added.extras at Tarntawan Primeone385, pong2, JackR and 3 others 5 1 Quote
macaroni21 Posted June 17 Posted June 17 I think Raya Hotel is not affected by any work (other than construction noise) because the unit that says "Space for rent" was not part of the hotel. That shop has been empty for a long time, since before Covid, I think. It may now have a new tenant. Dare we hope for a new gogo bar (with boys, not girls!) ? floridarob 1 Quote
Popular Post bkkmfj2648 Posted June 17 Popular Post Posted June 17 I recently stayed at the Raya with Vinapu and all was normal. My room at the back of the hallway on floor 6 overlooked the transformation of our beloved soi Twilight into hotel/shopping ? and none of the construction noise bothered me or made my stay there unpleasant. I LOVED the Raya - especially when I brought 2 guys back to my room on 2 different occasions when they put on a sexy show in the "in the middle of the suite" all glass shower - truly a turn on for what was to cum - oops come.... musgrave, Ruthrieston, vinapu and 4 others 4 2 1 Quote

I lover Raya because it's location as well as their entry system. You use card to access an elevator, even if moving between floors and you can bypass reception completely which adds to discretion of whole place. Also service elevator in the parking lot in the back can be used 7/24 although it seems that did away with habit of closing front access between 6/24. Thing one needs to be aware is that they will require 1000 baht deposit so better be prepared , Raya is also notorious for adhering to 3 pm check in time but we were pleasantly surprised that they let us in when we showed up at noon. jamiebee 1 Quote

My experience with Raya last month was also very good, way better than the small thin-walled "room" of The Quarter Silom. Raya didn't take any deposit from me though. And was able to check in by 12noon. Stayed at the 7th Floor room facing the highway and was not bothered by any noise. During my stay they never closed the front access even as late as 3 am. The only thing they are a bit lacking for me is their very limited breakfast. I also like that they provide a clothes rack for hanging a few clothes to dry. I really found value staying with them. vinapu and reader 2 Quote

"So your idea " , he says "is to sit on the 711 steps and eat cheese n ham toasties ? Yes !😁 jamiebee and vinapu 1 1 Quote

There's always something for farang and for Asians. I'd say if it's included in price it's rather good deal , if one needs to pay extra separately perhaps one can find better option nearby jamiebee and floridarob 2 Quote
jason1975 Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Hey, @musgrave I was there in Bangkok for 2 weeks. I believe you were there at same time as me. We could have been in Freshboys and Good Boy at the same time in one of the nights! Totally agree with you about No. 28 in Freshboys. I tipped him 100 baht when I left. Excellent performer and great body. Yes, waiters are too direct with their request for tips. I see some of the same performers in Good Boy at Dreamboys. They move around different bars at night doing shows. Sorry you fell ill and could not continue visiting the bars during your other nights. Hope we might meet in future (tentatively December this year for me). Looks like we like the same type of twinky guys! splinter1949, jamiebee, musgrave and 1 other 4 Quote
