MrBill Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I haven't been able to get back to LOS for almost 2 years now. Recently, I've seen some posts on Gay Romeo, RateFun and gboysiam that gave me wonder. These posts are all from boys (not sure if money oriented) who reference "Hi, High or Height" sex. Coming from the U.S.,my first thought was drugs, but then I remembered that before my first trip to Thailand I had chatted with a thai guy online who asked about me and I said I was a "fun loving guy" (in a purely innocent sense). Well, I discovered I had offended him and was told by another boy from Thailand that "fun" is used by the shy Thai boys to mean sex. With the stiff penalties for drug use in Thailand, I have a hard time believing that these guys are now so openly suggesting that they enjoy party sex, but could it be? I would appreciate clarification from those who may be more in the know. If it is a reference to drug use, these are definitely guys I would want to stay away from! Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 "Hi, High or Height" sex. Good question. I've wondered about that too. I think, but am not sure by any means, that they mean with use of poppers. I've never used poppers. I don't even know if it's legal in Thailand, but I'm guessing probably not. Quote
mahjongguy Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Yes, one has to be careful with the words "fun" and "funny". There will be misunderstandings worthy of a bad tv sitcom. I think it's because "fun" is a direct translation of "sanook", and "sanook" with a wink is a sly way of meaning "sex". Quote
macaroni21 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 But when we say "fun" with a wink, don't we mean sex too? Quote
mahjongguy Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 But when we say "fun" with a wink, don't we mean sex too? Yes, but if a Thai says something amusing (like, "love you long time") we might say "you so funny" and get a nastier look that we'd expected. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I've never used poppers. I don't even know if it's legal in Thailand, but I'm guessing probably not. That's my understanding. Quote
Guest marv69 Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 In my understand "hi fun" stands for fun (sex) on ice. As far as I know ice became a big deal in BKK.... together with viagra it is used to have a all night fun session. The big problem beside the drugs is that many guys go bareback... Quote

If that's the case... I'll stay far away thank you! I take my ice in cube form with my bourbon, and deal with enough meth heads at work. Thanks for that clarification. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Somewhere on this Board there is a thread that lists a number of amusing 'English' descriptions used by Thai boys on gayromeo. Since I cannot seem to find it, I'm adding my comment to this one. Today, I saw this description from a guy - I measure a good country boy want a girlfriend who I have sincere lonely shooter fans _1_ I want to have high weight 70 180 children aged 23 who like the rustic look, I talk The age, height and weight are his. He does have a rather rustic look and is, as he describes in the profile, gay and well endowed (he posts photos!). Can anyone come up with ideas as to what he is trying to say re girlfriend, lonely shooter and children? Quote
