Guest BeingThai Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Sounds familiar? Well, Yes this is the slogan that is displayed above the stage in Tawan Bar. Unfortunately, all the recent violent clashes have killed my plans to go to Bangkok this coming long weekend. Sigh... I miss Bangkok and the bodybuilders in Tawan. I am amused sometimes by their "theme songs" that they play during the chuckwow show as the guys wank off and the staff goes around collecting tips in the little brand's essence bottle. Here's a list of cheeky ones that I remember: 1. Raindrops keep falling on my head... 2. If tomorrow never comes... (Ronan Keating) 3. My heart will go on...(Celine Dion - thought its been ages since they've used this one) Anyone care to add on the list, or give the latest update on Tawan this past few weeks? I'm sure they've been affected by these violent clashes as well... Quote
Guest painai Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I was in Tawan Bar on Apr. 17/18. Have never seen a smaller number of guys working there on the evenings I visited. Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Have never seen a smaller number of guys working there on the evenings I visited. It is quite likely that the smaller numbers were not necessarily because of the protests, but probably because so many boys return to their hometowns for Songkran week. If customers are coming, I would guess that most of the boys have already returned to the bars, including Tawan. Quote

One thing I don't like about the chuckwow show, is lately the guys performing put on face masks while doing the chuckwow. I would think they would get much better tips if they did this without the masks. Does anyone know why they've started putting on the masks? I can remember when they didn't use masks and the chuckwow segment was much more fun than it is now. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 For me, there has never been anything 'happy' about Tawan. Horses for courses, I expect Quote

My first initial thought was that they fear being "raided" for indecency... At the next chance I have, I'd ask the staff or the boss... Yes, I quiet agree with GayButton that most of the guys were probably away from Songkran - especially this year since when the violence started would have made it less attractive to stay back for work. macaroni21 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I've always thought that, originally, the reason why they put on masks was so that they could preserve their chances of getting an off after the show, the thinking being that if a boy was seen to have cum, no customer would want to off him. By keeping the boys' faces unrecogniseable, this should take care of that problem. However, the bar probably didn't reckon with the fact that with tattoos being in fashion, one can easily recognise any boy by looking at ink disfigurement. Yet, on any given night, some wear masks, some don't. Why? My guess is that some of the boys have probably worked out that if their chances of getting an off are so low, they might as well cum openly and collect the prize... or if their chances of getting an off are still good, they might as well show their faces, but not ejaculate... so customers will know that they have NOT YET cum. But the above is only my theory. I've never asked anyone about this. Quote
Guest BeingThai Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Hi, anyone been to Tawan since the curfew started? I'm hoping to go this weekend, and really hope to hear how the guys are, and if the bar is open or not. Thanks for any information. Quote
Guest painai Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Tawan has been closed for most of the curfew, but Cruising for Sex reports it has reopened. Quote

Alternatively, you may be discovered the source of "Men in Black". Quote
