TotallyOz Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 I have heard many talk about the Dancing Boys of Afghanistan and while I have not seen the documentary yet, it is now on Itunes for those interested. It is a documentary on children who are sold into slavery for dancing as well as sexual abuse. What is a very taboo subject in countries like this is often practiced in the open and protected by the authorities. As I have said, I have yet to see this ABC news special but have read about it on another board and many wanted to view this and can't seem to see it. ITunes has made this possible. To make this topic relevant to Gay Thaiiland, I once saw a guy from Afghanistan in Pattaya and he was dancing. I wonder if he is a part of this documentary. Quote

Guest Jason105 Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 It is also now on YouTube with Part #1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFXO2cUYRz8 This is a very interesting, though troubling, program. They really do focus on very young boys...(12-16 yrs). Many of the young boys who participate end up becoming the "older partner" once they have matured past the age of "desirability". A fascinating look at the results of trying to force human beings to deny basic urges and how, no matter how repressive the governmental/tribal authority(ies) people will find a way, often through exploitation of those less fortunate, to satisfy themselves. One very frightening aspect is that many of the young men face the danger of beatings and/or death at the hands of jealous "owners." If you have an hour, worth a viewing. all the best Quote
