Guest Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I couldn't read the full article, for some reason. Last time I looked, the BKK-Luang Prabang route seemed to be served by Bangkok Airways/Air Lao. The pricing made this look rather like some sort of cartel. If I remember correctly, flights from BKK==>Udon Thani and Chiang Mai ==>BKK were about Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 Is there a Thai consulate there? Not in Luang Prabang. There is the Thai embassy in Vientiane. In Laos, that's all there is. Quote
pong Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 and there is a consul in Savannakhet-just opposite Mukdaharn-with the 2nd bridge in between. Thaivisa.com has all that info. NOK air has got a new strategy and wil not operate foreign flights anymore. The quoted prices are not outrageous for BKK-air, the other ones are domestic and low-cost. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 The quoted prices are not outrageous for BKK-air, the other ones are domestic and low-cost. Bangkok Air markets itself as a boutique airline - not a low cost one. So its fares are generally on the high side on all routes Some years ago it used to have a very good flight/fare covering several World Heritage sites at Sukhothai, Luang Prabang, Hue and Siem Reap. I guess the demand was not there and they ditched it. Quote
