The Road to the Beach in Pattaya

I went to dinner with friends last night and took the road to the Jomtien beach for the first time. They have made great headway on it since my last trip. I did not experience the usual potholes or the backed up traffic.

 

I did notice they have a big lane for parking. Why build the road and then put a parking lane in? Was that the intent all along? Anyone know how long until this is finished?

They have said the entire road from Third Road to connect past Son of Hanuman and past View Talay Villas is reportedly due for completion this month. Don't hold your breath waiting.

Thraphaya Road is now paved and open all the way to Fair Properties / Food Mart, though it's still a bit "raw".

 

The next bit, through the Threpesit Road intersection and on to the Monkey God (where there will now be an actual intersection), is going to be difficult and disruptive.

Right now, the entire route from Pattaya to Jomtien is paved. I suppose there will be work, but for now it's a brezze getting to/from Jomtien.

and an interesting question is, on the section just past Soi 5 immigration that currently hits a dead end afer may be 1km, why oh why does it have blue bus stops along it?

 

Anyone have inside info on this?
