Guest Hereforme2 Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 YES IT IS TRUE THEY ARE ASKING 8,000,000 Bht! Quote

Gaybutton Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 its standards had really slipped on my last visits in February. In what way? Quote
Guest TOQ Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Everything was standing on my recent trip. I must have gone there 10 times or so. Was not let down once Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 Partly I found the boys were less interested than usual. If they thought they'd not get a tip, they'd move past you pretty quickly. Then they would chat amongst themselves for quite a time rather than circulating, which I found was not the case before. Partly also a matter of personal preference - I found the boys more macho than before which is not what I look for in a bar. Generally I just found the 'fun' had gone. Quote
Guest RichLB Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 On another site, it is being said that Krazy Dragon is up for sale? Anyone know if this is true? I think on the site you are referring to, further along in the thread it was pointed out that the offer to sell was quite dated. I suppose anyplace is available to buy if one offers enough money. Gaybutton Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 No. It was a post made today at 11:15 am. A post made where? Who made the post? Quote
Guest rhodochrosite Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 A post made where? Who made the post? PATTAYA please - CRUISING for SEX Quote
Guest RichLB Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I checked out the referenced site and I think the poster is basing his belief on info first posted on another board. When folks checked out the advertisement that Krazy Dragon was up for sale, they discovred the ad was posted almost a year ago for a highly inflated price. I'm not part of the main info network in Pattaya, but I would be very surprised if this is a serious attempt to sell the bar. It remains popular and both boys and customers seem to enjoy their time there. Quote
Guest rhodochrosite Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 As Of TODAY....4th April 2010... News of what's happening in Sunee Plaza, Gay Pattaya, Gay Thailand Quote

Happy has been closed for a few weeks but will reportedly reopen tomorrow. The upstairs provides opportunities to explore your new friends major assets. Tom Yam is sleeze but the boys are on the young side , Krazy is for sale and a shadow of its former self, Sundance is now a beer bar, Cat's is closed and generally the whole place is toned down compared to what it was even a year ago. ........GB,You Need To Scroll To The Bottom On The Link I Gave.R. Where have you been? Florida! Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 Where have you been? Florida! No. I've been in two places. One was where people know what they're talking about. The other was Chez Vickie . . . Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 THE WORD IS OUT THEY DO NOT WANT FARANGS RUNNING BARS! This has been mentioned in other threads. Is this in fact true? Would the same be true for a farang running a bar with a Thai business partner? Just curious. Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 This has been mentioned in other threads. Is this in fact true? If it were me, I would ask current farang owners what they think. The poster wrote, "The word is out." I have heard no such word and he did not say who it was that put the word out, on what basis that word was given, or who "they" is. If I was truly interested in investing in a bar, I would not rely solely on an unsupported statement posted by an anonymous message board poster. I would be talking to farang bar owners, Thai accountants, and Thai attorneys. Quote
Guest Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 This has been mentioned in other threads. Is this in fact true? Would the same be true for a farang running a bar with a Thai business partner? Just curious. I would HIGHLY recommend waiting to do any gogo bar in Sunee. From what I have seen, I don't think the same is true for Boyztown but who knows? I have also spoken to some female gogo bar owners and they are also worried. What will become of this is anyone's guess. But, I think Hereforme is on track when he says the word is out. I also agree with Gaybutton in we don't know who that word comes from. But, the word is out (I heard it 3 times last night) and one must be careful. IMHO Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I would HIGHLY recommend waiting to do any gogo bar in Sunee. one must be careful. IMHO I agree with that. Before getting involved, as a farang, in any business in Thailand, and especially the go-go bar business, you better make sure you know what you're doing. And message boards, including this one, would be the last place I would look for reliable business information. There is also a lot more to running a bar than buying it and then just handing over the actual business operations to a Thai manager and mama-san. Some have tried that. They're the ones who are now searching for their shirts in the lost-and-found. The one exception I would make to message board information would be the posts about what people like and dislike about bars. Those posts are coming from people who are the customers and I would damned sure pay attention, very close attention, to what the customers are saying. Why so many bar owners, Thai and farang, simply ignore what the customers say goes beyond me. It has been made very clear on these boards what customers want and don't want. The bars that do pay attention are the ones getting our business. The bars that don't are the ones pretty much empty night after night. That's obvious to everybody else. Why isn't it obvious to the bar owners? Welcome once again to my "I Don't Get It" list. Quote
bkkguy Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 I have heard no such word and he did not say who it was that put the word out, on what basis that word was given, or who "they" is. a google search on "crack down on foreign bar owners pattaya" answers most of those questions bkkguy Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 a google search on "crack down on foreign bar owners pattaya" answers most of those questions I haven't had time to read everything that came up, but from what I did read I still don't see anything that indicates any of the powers-that-be don't want foreigners to own bars. As for the rest of it, nothing new there. Those stories have been around for weeks. As seems to always happen, at first there really did seem to be a crackdown. Now most of that has fizzled out. It never seems to take long. Quote
gerefan Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 That reference on Sunee Plaza Info makes a total of 10 bars for sale in Sunee and that together with another 5 closed gives a total of about 15 bars for sale and/or closed. I have just counted approx 30 bars/gogo bars in total. That's quite a large proportion in anybody's reckoning. G Quote
