TotallyOz Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I have written before about my love for my Kindle device. When I come to Thailand for a long holiday, I like to read a few books on the beach or in my room in early morning. Today I was up really early and headed to beach road and read as the sun came up. Surfing the web today I saw that Kindle had come out with a reader for the Mac. Wanting to see how it was I downloaded and played with it today. It is very easy to read and works great with any large screen. It is just one more way that the Kindle experience and books can be enjoyed while in Thailand. Once you download the reader it asks if you want to sync. When you do all the books you have purchased are automatically put onto your computer. They are easy to read and the books that have graphics have great graphics on the computer screen. For those with a Kindle account, I think this new software is great! Quote
Gaybutton Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 What some of you may not know is Amazon now will ship a wide variety of items, including Kindle, to Thailand. The way it works is when you go to "checkout" you will get a calculation of the additional shipping cost, import duty fees, and whatever else. It is added to your final bill and prepaid. All you need to do is receive your item. All the fees are prepaid and handled by Amazon. That takes the headache out of ordering from Amazon if you can't find what you want within Thailand. Quote
Guest Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 Kindle app now available for iPad | E-Readers | iPhone Central | Macworld Kindle App is now available on the IPad. Great move for me. I have a few hundred books from Kindle and glad it will be able to be transported over to the IPad. Quote

Guest RichLB Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 GT (or anyone else), have you seen the new Ipad? I was all set to get a Kindle until Apple came out with the Ipad. How do the two compare in reality? I've seen the adverts but no one seems to mention readability in bright sunlight or how functional it is in Thailand. Any info? Quote
Guest Posted April 4, 2010 Posted April 4, 2010 I did see it. I did like it. I do want one. I do not have one. I do know of friends who bought them and they love them. However, most of my friends are Mac Addicts and would love anything Apple puts out so we are not the best judge of this. However, all I know that bought it and has in their hands said, "it is amazing." I did not ask about the books part but from what I read it looks great! Quote
