TotallyOz Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 It is a very sad thing for me as I have been a loyal NWA flyer for years. Now that the merger is totally revamped has anyone noticed any major changes? For me, I was able to get an upgradeable fare to Brazil which I had NEVER been able to do with NWA (almost never). The price was a bit on the high side but it was there. The planes are nice and the service is fine. What I have missed the most after the change over is the new Platinum Elite line for Delta is no where near as easy to work with and get things done as the old NWA. Every-time I call them, I wait and get someone that sounds like that don't know what to do. I never had that happen with NWA. I also rode in one of their new first class planes with the 100 percent flat bed. It was great! I loved it. They said by 2012, all their planes should be that way. To me that is a nice move. They have also started to offer a new status called Diamond (I think) that is 125k miles per year. I have yet to figure out how much benefit this would give me over Platinum. If not a great difference I think I'll do what I did last year and get as close to that number as possible and let the extra roll over (a new feature as well). Anyone see any major difference on the USA to Bangkok Delta flights? Quote
kokopelli Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 On a recent flight on Delta to BKK, in Business Class they switched from cashews to peanuts although they still served champagne. The Delta website does not seem to offer the same options as NWA such as upgradeable tickets/fares. I suppose one must call to find an upgradeable fare? Most, if not all, the flight attendants are NW staff and even older than I. Quote
