Just to add my little experience, I think the Rabbit is a good deal better in every respect than Avalon. In fact, my friend and I vowed we'd never stay at Avalon again.

After reading Tui's behavior against a guy which wasn't happy with his food

I don't think we will choose this place :o and RoomClub is for sale, so

I suppose we will go better to the Avalon

PS. Are there no possibilities to get back late from Pattaya to Jomtien?

Well actually Kurt and most respectfully, there was a LOT more to it than "a guy" who "wasn't happy with his food"

The "guy" in question was just spawning for a fight. When I was notified by the chair that there was a problem with a customer complaining about my Tom Yam Goong, I immediately went to see the customer because; having made the dish myself, this was the first time I had EVER received a complaint. Anyway, when I was presented with the bowl it was clear that the customer had in fact eaten most of the soup and replaced the soupy liquid with water. I took the high road though and apologized, plus; I then advised the customer that I had no intention of charging him for the dish and at that stage I thought that was that.

Unfortunately no; the customer - not satisfied that I had apologized and waived ALL charges, proceeded to then 'F-bomb' me, calling me "F-ing, this" and "F-ing that" right on the steps of my own business AND in front of my guests and my friends. At this point I'm afraid I would have gladly engaged in fisticuffs but with the bowl of cold soup in my hands, my impulse was just to throw the liquid at him; which I did.

For what it's worth, the people who actually saw the incident first hand - applauded my actions, because like I've written before, "the guy" was definitely spawning for a fight and so my Tom Yam Goong defused the situation.

A few more facts for you, a couple of guests who also ate the same soup (as I made their dish at the same time, in the same saucepan) told me that their respective Tom Yam Goongs, were delicious. Also, I was NOT told to pay the Police any money at all, so I did not pay anything. The "guy"; having been made to wait 3-hours in the Police Station started to concoct a story about "missing a plane" - however not before Pattaya News interviewed both him and then me, and subsequently concluded that I was completely without fault and the problem was probably that "the farang" (your "guy") didn't have enough money on him to pay for his food. End of story!

Now as for the "view from Tui's Place" picture, I have just taken four pictures, which I will 'stitch' together and post on this forum - very shortly.

Thank you by the way for taking time-out to read MY side of the story. - Tui.

I think the story your read was this Kurt...

The story I heard was that a young farang ordered food and he wasn't happy with it. He told Rit and Rit told him to talk to Tui's. He did and after some words Tui's employee threw the food in the young guy's face. The guy reported it to the police and Tui had to pay the guy 500 baht. Because of that he was/is refusing to serve food to Rit's Beach.

Well actually and most respectfully, there was a lot more to it than "a guy" who "wasn't happy with his food"

I took the high road though and apologized, plus; I then advised the customer that I had no intention of charging him for his food - and at that stage thought 'that was that'.

Unfortunately 'wrong'; the customer - not satisfied that I had apologized and waived all charges, proceeded to then 'F-bomb' me, calling me "an F-ing this" and "an F-ing that" right on the steps of my own business and in front of my guests and my friends. At this point I'm afraid I would have gladly engaged in fisticuffs but with the bowl of cold soup in my hands, my impulse was just to throw the liquid at him; which I did.

Also, I was not told to pay money by the Police; nothing at all, so I did not pay the "guy" one single baht.

The "guy" though; having been made to wait 3-hours in the Police Station started to concoct a story about "missing a plane" - however not before Pattaya News interviewed both him and then 'yours truly' before subsequently concluding that I was completely without fault and the problem was probably that "the farang" (your "guy") didn't have enough money on him to pay for his food. That's it; end of story!

Now as for the "view from Tui's Place" picture, et voila! This picture was taken less than an hour ago and shows the beach looking northeast towards the sea.

Finally, thank you all by the way for taking time-out to read MY side of what actually happened. - Tui.

Two sides to every story. You folks out there can believe who you want, but until now I have never heard a complaint about Tui, but I've sure heard plenty about farang who publicly make fools of themselves.

Hello Tui thanks a lot for your explanations, seems now very clear to me :) fantastic

view from your place :excl:

When I was in contact with one of your staff he offered me swimming-pool access for 100 baht/day

+ room-rate for a superior room and then I asked back per person or per day and never got an

answer (I was asking for 2 rooms and for a 3-weeks stay). You still can make me an offer because

I didnt book the Rabbit Resort they didnt give me a good rate although on

sawadee.com was a better one  Looking forward to hear from you <Kurt

PS. Looking for 1 room from 08/11 till 26/11/2010

It's been a few years now but I've stayed at Tui's at least 6 or 7 times (probably more) and, being biased (because I love the place and always got great service), I believe Tui.

Ahem . . . I really don't think the message board is the appropriate place for people to be making their personal hotel arrangements. In the future, please do that by PM or Email.

I am glad to finally hear the other side of the story which sounds quite reasonable to me. It is too bad that you let the guy goad you into throwing the soup at him, but I think I might probably had done the same thing.

I appreciate your feedback lvdkeyes and my apologies for taking a couple of months to set the record straight; I'm just trying to learn to become a little more Web savvy. Anyway, when I read what you had originally written, I felt that I should actually correct what you may have heard second or even third hand. I think we all know how 'Chinese whispers' can get out of hand. - Tui

While I have never stayed at your guesthouse, I always go to Rit's beach to catch the sun and I always order food from your place via Rit. Nobody has answered one question. Can I still count on getting good food (yours) at Rit's?

Can I still count on getting good food (yours) at Rit's?

My apologies KhorTose for not clearing this matter up earlier.

While I have the greatest respect and admiration for Rit personally, I decided to suspend delivery of food from Tui's Place after the incident, because I felt I did not get the proper support from his staff who were on-hand that day.

There have also been occasions when some of his staff have been noticeably discourteous towards me personally; which is very un-Thai plus, there have been incidents where they (some of Rit's staff) have been rude to my guests too.

Bottom line is Rit knows I have a great respect for him personally but unfortunately the 'King may not wear the crown in this (sand)castle'. I hope my diplomatic response answers your question KhorTose.

Finally, thank you for your kind comment about our food here. Worse case scenario I guess though (as of writing anyway) is to say that our clean, cool, breezy restaurant is less than 15-meters from where you sit at Rit's, should you ever need a break from the heat at the beach! - Tui :)
