Guest dale1 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 TAKE CARE!! sponsored a very successful fund raising event at the Corner Bar in Sunnee Plaza on Saturday night (6 March 2010). The event had been advertised with postings on several message boards, included in the “events” section of a couple of web sites, posters placed in gay venues throughout Pattaya and Jomtien and for several days with flyers passed out along Jomtien Beach. With attendance of about 70 supporters, we are pleased to report that just over 40,000 baht was raised which will be spent entirely on Safer Sex Packs (two condoms, a lube sachet and s bit of printed material) distributed to 30-40 gay venues in our community. Provided by many venues and friends, there were over 60 prizes for the lucky draw and an auction. Sincerest thanks to the folks who provided all the great prizes. Very special thanks to the folks at Corner Bar who pulled out all the stops by providing a full buffet and the first drink for the price of admission, all of which went to TAKE CARE!! The delicious meal was provide by Little Mango Restaurant on Soi VC and was clearly enjoyed by all. Sincere appreciation to David of Oscar’s Bar in Boyz Town, who did a great job as the auctioneer of a number of quite nice works of art. Ken, the Thai owner of the Little Mango restaurant presented a very good Thai food buffet, which everyone seemed to enjoy. Mike and his staff at Corner Bar were very attentive to everyone, and the bar was packed. There were excellent prizes offered in the raffles, so many prizes that they actually had to do the raffle by thirds, in three sets of drawings. I was very lucky. I bought 7 raffle tickets and won 5 prizes. Raffle prizes included everything from dinner and bar vouchers to bottles of liquor to hotel stays. Pattaya Gay TV was there and will webcast the festivities on their Thursday, March 11 program. Quote
