I haven't seen anything new about Saphan Kwai here or CFS. Anybody with the latest info about the gay venues there?

hello mister, how are you? NO-not that recent-but neither any report that the scene of old has changed that much:

1.the KaraOke etc-clothed boys-meets-bars in the dead-end soi off Pradipat. Adam. and BeHigh= the only with ''gogo'' and some farang clientele.

2.sauna: 3, Farose, Adonis (both quite basic and near filthy) and 39 underground.

3.now various massage places so common in BKK-you know the usual lists. Like in the Liberty Hotel etc.

4.quite nearby are the OToKo places-aimed at young ThaiforThai, but open/close at breakneck speed.

selamat jalan yah, dan kembali lagi.

That, by the way, is Pradipat Soi 20. Also, at the end of that soi is the Embassy Hotel. It can be used as a short time hotel or you can stay there. It's rather seedy and run down, maybe a notch or two below the Malaysia Hotel, but at least it's right there if you want to stay close to the Saphan Kwai venues. It's also convenient to the Chatuchak weekend market. The last time I checked, about 2 or 3 years ago, the farang price was 700 baht per night. Their number is 02 279 2641 if you want to make a reservation, although reservations are probably not really necessary.

Sawatdee khrap, Khun Pong and Khun GB,

Thank you for your replies. As I have not had the opportunity to visit Bangkok even once in the last five years, I am most grateful for your posts. This year, with my first fiction work finally off to a good home at a Singapore publisher, I was thinking it was high time for a real holiday after the last of my book clients goes back to Europe at the end of April.

I was thinking of going straight to Pattaya first, and then if I didn't like the beach there, to go back to Bangkok for a few days before heading to Koh Samui or Phuket to finish off my holiday.

I made a map, I hope it helps anyone who has been wanting to go there

was there just 3-4 days ago.

Main change: the m2m msg in Liberty HTL has changed name/hands. Advertise on Thaimassageboy

Waterloo-an old standing KaraOK-bar  is now under rebuild and is to reopen as also an m2m msg shop-will also get website from TMB

Got a fairly strange feeling this time-in the past I was always welcomed, whithin a few mins speaking to some doorstander all news would be there. Not so this time-many Indians suddenly- and a feeling of being ignored by will.

Farose sauna: reported to be so downhill-and half closed, that only the truely desperate would enter. The old Adonis in soi Elisabet HTL has closed at least 1 yr ago. As for sauna- 39 underground main one remaining-said to often have large groups of mainland Chinese.

I was in Soi 20 a week or two ago.

Be-High is the same as it has been for about a hundred years. Seating, decor exactly the same. Beer I think was 120 or 140.

Four friendly boys with more promised later (this was about 21:30) but we only stayed half an hour.

We really went to Saphan Kwai to say hello to, Pong, an old friend from Phuket.

He had various bars around Paradise including the original C.U. Tonight.

He now owns STAX karaoke in Pradipat Soi 20. It is clean and beautifully decorated (for a karaoke).

Stax is the first bar you come to in the soi. We were there early for karaoke at 22:00 and there were two other tables occupied.

There were about 20 clothed boys of various nationalities.

Pong hopes soon to open a massage parlour next door using the same boys.

I would imagine it gets lively later (closing at usual karaoke times of 5 or 6).

Thank you, Buckbee, Pong and Promsak.

I still haven't been to Sapan Kwai yet even after all these years but I'll try next year when I come to Thailand for my next holiday.

Both times I offed guys from karaoke or go go they took me to the same place, a very acceptable and easy walking distance short time hotel at 300 baht. One of those hotels with curtains outside the room for privacy and very convenient. No name but all the working boys would know where to take you.
