Guest jimbear451 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hello, all. I need some advice. I am have contacted a massage house in Chiang Mai (B-Beez) for a gay guide for a couple days to include tourist things as well as to stay overnight for some fun. I asked about cost, but they ignored that question and said to contact them when I arrive. I was hoping to make arrangements before I get there. I am thinking it might be because they do not want to do transaction discussions by email. That is fine and I understand and I don't want to hire anyone other than representing an establishment. But I have no idea what is a reasonable cost for this. I realize I will need to cover all the expenses of the boy and travel, but wondering what a fair tip would be per day for this type of service. Any advice? Thanks! Quote

You go to B-Beez for massage. Roll up pay cash. Very good they are too. Worth visiting. For a hotel, try booking it yourself on line. You may find some ideas HERE:Chiang Mai hotels I believe the Lavender Lanna did city tours for people who don't like finding their own way around. Then to find your own way around, get a copy of SPICE magazine from one of the gay hotels or bars & use the Chiang Mai map inside. Quote
Guest jimbear451 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 see my topic "what tip for long time stay". Hans Thank you, Hans. This string was VERY helpful! If you have any other advice, love to hear it. Quote

Thanks "Z!" Very much appreciated. I got my hotel set, which is Lavendar Lanna, and that concerns me, but put another post with questions on that. Some very good and some very bad reviews, including recent death of owner. As for a boy/tour guide (i.e. short term bf) I have been invited by boys online but that concerns me with possible scams. So I was thinking, since I don't have much time (4 days) that a massage parlour would be a good way to find someone in advance that I might be able to trust and plan out some things with A couple ex-pat farang suggested this and thought it was a good idea. They said Nui, the owner at B-Beez, was a good guy and well-established. But if there is somewhere else I should look, would be open to the idea. Thanks again! Quote
Bob Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 As noted by z909, B-Beez is a massage joint (and a good one by all reports) but, while you can get lucky, one doesn't normally contact a massage joint by email asking for tour guide information. First time I've ever heard of it (and would bet they were scratching their heads trying to figure out how to respond to you). If you're looking for a gay tour guide for your trip, maybe contact a gay tour guide? Or, if it's more in your alley to meet somebody in a massage parlour and then ask them to serve as a guide, wait until you get here and do that (hardly try to hire somebody like that over the internet). As concerns Lavender Lanna, the concern is whether the place will remain open (or for how long) given the alleged owner of the place has passed away. But it's been open since his death and your only problem would be if something happens before your stay is completed. My guess, for now, is to not worry about it. Or, if you're the worrying type, then try to lock in a room at PJ's place (which is within walking distance to Lavender Lanna anyway). Quote
Gaybutton Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I think the best gay guide in Chiang Mai is Ben's tours. Everyone has always been absolutely delighted with him and his prices are very reasonable. See his web site at: http://www.benstaxiserviceandtours.com Quote
Guest jimbear451 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Thanks for the information. I suppose it probably did confuse them--so I guess I may wait. I was just acting on some advice from a couple farang who live there and was basically looking for a boy as an escort who could help me get around town and the area--not so much a tour guide as a mate and playmate. And as for hotel, not really the worry-wart type, but don't want to spend what little time I have there dealing with hotel issues. So, I will keep an eye on things and decide a few days out whether I should try to switch or not. Thanks again. Quote
