Guest fountainhall Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I guess this post will make me sound like a wet blanket. The continual dredging up of all but 'dead' threads and then making several separate posts is, in my view, just too obviously a gimmick exclusively to generate activity to count towards the competition. Threads generally die off and become dormant for a reason. Resurrecting them is, again in my view, usually pointless, unless there has been some current new development that justifies re-activating them. I say this in the knowledge that my posts tend to be wordy and some may well find them tiresome. I do try to make them relevant, though. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 There was an incident of organised mass theft from guest rooms at the Sea Sun Sand Resort in Phuket a couple of years ago. Someone was entering each room, opening the safe and taking a small (less noticeable) amount of cash each day. The staff must have been in on it. The guests revolted and picketed the front entrance but the tourist police took the side of the hotel and made them leave. Sadly, the place is still operating. You can see some reports of it at the bottom of the page here: http://www.tripadvis...ong_Phuket.html There are also some newspaper articles on it if you Google it. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I just wanted to say that, while I have answered most post, and started some, I haven't tried to bring life back to old post. Sorry for any extra time you might use going over my post, but it is a conteat, and I am giving it my best.!! Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Yes, but you've been on this board forever (4 years). I only joined recently and really only started posting a week ago... so I did want to go back through old posts. I did the same on SGT and GTT. Quote
Guest YardenUK Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Netiquette and reviving old posts - google it - suggests if an old topic is interesting to the poster then good form is to start a new thread. Quote

Yarden...sure hope you haven't created a new monster with this suggestion....Guess we will see. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I suppose it's personal taste, but I don't like creating new threads when there's already a good existing thread on the topic. Seems a bit artificial. Maybe, that's a better way though. Quote
