I am thankful for your prefessional comment SPI.

i WONDER why you dont employ security guards to patrol the streets there,i do get scared sometimes walking around there.

And is it true there are FBI agents or as said on another forum ,Agents/detectives from Australia,UK,USA ,France,Have they been in contact with SPI ?

I for one do not like that area as I like guys mostly in their 30s and 40s but I like to sometimes drink around the area in some nicer bars.

I didnt see any of these "agents" when I was there a few nights ago but they the information I read on here and another forum made me feel uneasy sitting in the bars thinking I was being watched ,even though on the other hand I felt safe knowing these undercover FBI guys or whoever they are would be around in case something happened.

I felt every farang guy was maybe a undercover overseas agent ,i know it sounds ridicilous but i was reading these gay forums.

I did feel scared and uneasy,or paranoid i suppose you could call it.

Im really thinking it could be a rumour however about this and someone just joking, surely they wouldnt be allowed to be armed or use any violence or fear on to people.

Possibly you wouldnt say if you knew there would be "agents" around,in which I fully understand that you cannot make any comment.

It doesn't matter to me who is a spokesman for what organization. To me, the whole point is finally doing something to get rid of the under-age boy problems in Sunee Plaza.

Is there anyone who can tell us whether any bars have been closed down as a result of this arrest? Is there anyone who can tell us if you are still seeing under-age boys working in various Sunee Plaza bars following this incident? I haven't had a chance yet to get to Sunee Plaza to see for myself and it will probably be a few days before I get there.

yes, we are the same group. We are willing to go about removing the problem any way we can from this area. The police need to go after anyone who is breaking the law. Once the area of rid of these creatures the other businesses with thrive.

Oh dear I hope your Condo is on a low floor, don't open the door to any one, unless your not alone, the Mafia use some one you know usually.

GOOD LUCK! YOUR GOING TO NEED IT, TO MANY MAKING TO MUCH, COME BACK IN 10 YEARS TIME, YOU MAY HAVE MORE LUCK ?

Last night I noticed two bars that were closed , however one of those two is not technically in Sunee and has been closed for a month now.

I have learned a few things.

The SPI seems to be the same as the SPA. I am not sure but that seems to be correct. That is OK by me and I don't care. I also don't care who their spokesperson is. It is not important to me. I was simply asking if the 2 groups were the same. The name of the spokesman is not important to me.

The Pattaya-Times Newspaper and the Spice Magazine group are the same and the author of the article written that was quoted in this thread is the owner of Spice. That is OK for me too. I had just never heard of the Pattaya-Times and didn't know if it was a newspaper or what. Now I know. I guess the interviews in the article quoted were an easy distance for the interviewer. The owner of these publications is a happily married man with children in Pattaya and has done many great things for the Pattaya community. He seems to do a lot of charity work that benefits the community and I am sure that his desire to clean up the streets of Pattaya are meant for the good of all of Pattaya. Many in Pattaya want to see the city turned into a family destination and I am sure that will be beneficial to many including me as I love nice hotels and relaxing on lovely beaches. I hope that they get the beaches cleaned up soon because if I am going to be paying for the rates at these high price family hotels, I want clean beach and unpolluted water to swim in.

I guess I thought that Spice was still run by a guy named Phil. That tells you how far behind I am on things. I do remember a notice about a new owner but I guess I thought Phil was going to continue to run the magazine. I am not sure why I thought that. I am wrong on many occasions and this was one. I wish the new owners great success with their publication and hope that they do as great of job for the gay community as Phil did. Does Phil still run the Sticky Ride website or is that also part of Spice?

Guy is the spokesman for SPI and he owns the SPI site. He states he did not make the quote for the Pattaya-Times. I believe that as well. If I were he, I would be upset that someone is using his information in articles without his permission, as he should be the only one that is an official spokesperson for the group. I really like the SPI site and think the photos are great. I hope that the group is there to advertise and help Sunee get more traffic and good press and I hope they don't help the press that wants to destroy Sunee totally. Seems contradictory to their whole purpose IMHO. I welcome Guy to the site and hope that he keeps us updated on the goings on in Sunee. Mark always does such a great job at keep his site update and in spreading the word. I hope other bars will do the same.

So, I guess what I have learned from all of this is that if I want the real scoop on information in Pattaya, I need to ask LMTU to find out what is going on. Damn. I just hate it when I have to turn to him to get accurate information. I am not really sure what that says about the state of the press in LOS but I think it says more than I care to know.

Lastly, I guess my shoes are going to have to endure more gum until the streets are cleaned up totally.

I agree. If you want reliable, accurate information around here, the media is the last place to look for it. And follow-up is rare. This incident alone is a perfect example. The media did a good job reporting the arrest, but there has been nothing since. My questions certainly have not been addressed. It seems like the only way to get truly reliable information around here is to go out and get it yourself.
