Situation in Haiti

Recommended Posts

I was hoping to visit the Dominican Republic this year but I've seen the news regarding the civil unrest going on in Haiti. Has this affected the safety in the DR? It would be my first time visiting a Latin American country. I've been studying the forums trying to prepare myself but I wanted to make sure I wasn't walking into something crazy my first time out.

You will be fine. Just got back a few weeks ago. The Dominican Republic is safe If you stay alert and think with your BIG HEAD and not the one between your legs. If this is your first time, I would really get in contact with Manny to see what he has in his stable. Be safe and have fun!

Yeah thanks @BlkSuperman. I will be in Santo Domingo next month for the first time. I will reach out to Manny as well.

The Haitians are not going to invade the DR or shoot rockets. I don't know about any refugee situation but the two countries do not get along and the border, as I understand it, is heavily controlled.

Where can I get Manny's info?
