Guest taylorsquare Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Well,i dont know if its in boystown but it is in the soi 2 streets up. There is a few bars in this soi and i had to pick the worst one. Well walked past DREAM BOYS which had a sign up 100 baht for drinks, but silly me didnt go in. I chose to go into LUCKY 777 GO GO only because i went in there last year and enjoyed it,however it seems now different mamasan and different manager. Well, sitting there drinking my coca cola only 1 minute, probaly less, than arriving, the mamasan says "Which boy u like ,waving his hand at them in gliding motion. I had just sat down so said to him,"still looking". Im the only customer in there, boys were lifeless, about 8 standing there bored looking. The mamasan ,young male, then leans on a post and stares at me,trying to prompt me to quickly pick a boy, this making me feel uneasy. Well feeling nervous at his stare i quickly drank my drink, only to have him approach again, ask me the same question. And again less than 1 minute after that and again 1 minute after that before he went back to leaning on the pole staring at me. i apologised to him,but it seems his english wasnt that good, and he again asked me "what number"? I noticed the boys on the stage were too aware of what he was doing. Here i am the customer and really i wanted to buy a boy a drink and sit down and relax, just as i did last year in this bar but seems mamasan has changed. So anyway ended up quickly downing my coke, spent less than 6 minutes in there, one coca cola 160 baht. Boys seemed lifeless, playing with mobile phones, staring at floor etc. I actually enjoyed this go go bar last year, use to have a farang ladyboy guy own it but it seems it has changed hands to someone who just wants to rush you out after selling you a overpriced coca cola around $6.00 for what? Everyone has different techniques for getting rid of a pushy mama-san. Mine is usually to just tell him something such as you want to sit by yourself and look first, and if you want a boy to sit with you, you will let him know. Until then, vamoose! If you can't get him to leave you alone, then leave him alone. In other words, totally ignore him. For me, that's usually all it takes. Quote
Guest Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Ignore them. Refuse all their requests. Ideally select your guy, make eye contact & invite him over with a couple of nods. If your chosen guy speaks some English, continue to ignore the mamasan. Also, if the bar allows, position yourself so it is difficult for the mamasan to sit next to you. I had one sat next to me in a bar half way up Soi Duangthawee recently. Eventually he got up to attend to something else. Then I shuffled up to the end of the bench to leave him no space. The guys on stage spotted this and had a good laugh long before the mamasan came back. Quote
colmx Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 this go go bar last year, use to have a farang ladyboy guy own it but it seems it has changed hands to someone who just wants to rush you out I'm not sure Nicholas would be impressed to hear that he is being called a Ladyboy! You are correct in that the bar has changed hands twice in the last year... Nicholas the Tall young Farang guy sold it on... And now it seems that Louis (previously of Tai Boys, City Boys, Gacuya etc) is now the owner... Quote
Guest gay_grampa Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I'm not sure Nicholas would be impressed to hear that he is being called a Ladyboy! Yes, he is definitely NOT a ladyboy. We have a mutual friend who, when fed with a whiskey+coke or six becomes very indiscreet. I've been shown a series of photos taken in an apartment somewhere and the alleged ladyboy has nothing to be ashamed of in the showers and is definitely the top. On the subject of annoying mamasans, I usually pick up my drink and move to another seat - they soon get the message. Quote
Guest taylorsquare Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Im sorry maybe its not the same owner. I was talking about a friendly farang guy with a long dark pink wig on and of skinny build. I presumed he was a "ladyboy" by the wig, however my apologies if I am mistaken. I really do enjoy a Go Go BAr where you can sit down ,preferably somewhere private, with a guy or group of guys, buy boy drink,at reasonable prices and talk and have fun,but its becoming hard to find such go go bars. Maybe HAPPY BOYS could be one where you could do that, but LUCKY777 to my observation was rush rush to sell me and get me out. Quote
kokopelli Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I heard that the new owner of 777 is the owner of Number One Bar in Day Night Plaza. Heard this today from a former employee at Number One. Quote
