Guest taylorsquare Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Well visited Sunee Plaza. This is some info for those not in Thailand at the moment. First went into the MIC MY BOY GO GO BAR,this use to actually be a beer bar before they turned it into a go go bar around 12 months ago. It is run by a tom boy lady with short black hair and her girlfriend. She is very friendly but very pushy for you to off boys who I might add did not seem of legal age and some had no ID. Apparently they have rooms upstairs for short time. Drinks were 120 baht, however I didn't really find the boys attractive as I am more into "manly" big types in their 20 s ,late 20 s. However this bar has nice "twinks" types for those looking. Mamasan to me was more pushy than a lot of other mamasans, asking for drinks ,asking boys to sit with me etc. Bar was quite busy with farang, around 10 farang sitting down. Then I went onto FOREST BAR,which is the bar on the corner next to MIC MY BOY GO GO,this is a open air bar, staff were quite friendly, drink prices were cheap, however not much action, seem to be more Ladyboy types.OFF fee is 250 baht here. I did however notice across the road/soi,the old TOP BOYS GO GO,which last year was made into CockTailz GO GO,it seems it has now closed up. Then went onto LA CAGE BAR,drink prices are apparently cheaper here between 6 and 9pm if you are a on a budget. This is quite a good bar and atmosphere. I sat out on the patio area and there was a farang staring at me so I said Good Evening to him,he looked back and said "Is it?" I was a bit taken back so I just smiled at him and then he proceeded to tell me he doesn't like "tourists" who come here for a month and went on and on,and I didnt say a word to him as he was red in the face and looked quite angry about farang tourists so I just kept nodding my head and smiling at him, trying to drink my drink faster. At the end of about 5 minutes listening to him putting down Americans ,(I'm not American)I decided to tell him I was moving on,then he then tells me I look like a friendly guy and shouldn't go so quick, because he more to tell me about the world, but I didn't want to listen to him rave on about how Tourists are making the World a bad place so I walked around Sunee for a while. Didn't see many changes but I will go back again soon. I find some farang quite aggressive/angry or is it just my perception? For example I was coming out of a gay bar the other day and rather than push myself in between the tables where a group of older farang guys were sitting,I said "Excuse me a minute" and then walked thru. I could have made it possibly without saying that but would have made possible body contact as I squeezed thru,so decided to let him know I was coming thru by saying excuse me. He then immediately jumped up,stood out of his seat and said,"You can fit easily past here." I looked at him and he looked very annoyed,a guy probably in his 70 s frail looking, nicely dressed, and 2 older guys sitting at the table with him laughing. Rather than shout back at him, I just looked at him and said,"I'm really sorry,"I didn't mean to do that" He then sat down in a huff and puff and the other 2 guys with him started laughing. I felt like I should say something back to them, but I kept walking, I think it was the right thing to do. I am sort of done arguing with people, something is happening in their life,so they choose to be like that. Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Good report. Thanks for posting it. Unfortunately you encountered some brainless farang, but I think you were right not to bother having words with them. If they want to be fools, there's no need to join in. At La Cage, I think I know who you were talking about. There is a true jerk who goes there on a regular basis, gets drunk, and then starts opening up a big mouth. I've seen Mike, the owner, have to kick him out more than once. If you go back and he starts up again, let Mike know. Mike will deal with him. Quote

Obviosly a septic living on a reducing social security pension and cann no longer afford the life he used to enjoy For example I was coming out of a gay bar the other day and rather than push myself in between the tables where a group of older farang guys were sitting,I said "Excuse me a minute" and then walked thru. I have found that many expats have started to resent tourists who can afford what they used to be able to afford, but can no longer Was that incident where you could not get past in the Corner bar. Some of the Supposed? ELITE of PATTAYA GAY COMMUNITY have reserved tables there each night and they can be sniffy if commoners move in Keep in your place son, otherwise all hell from those who think they are important will fall upon you Quote
Guest HeyGay Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I don't know what your doing to seem to bump into some nasty people, I think most of us would have gone before they had a chance to continue with their boring chat or I would have had something tasty for them to quickly get the message that they are a bore. Its a shame you did not visit Jim jim Jimmy or Good Boys or 'Enjoy' karaoke, places we never hear about and like to know how things are doing, I know good boys opposite Krazy dragon has some nice hands on guys there, also how's SUNDANCE doing since it went to a host bar. or why did you not visit CORNER BAR they seem to have a wonderful reputation for being very friendly., so many places to visit you never have to be bored or meet nasty people for long in Sunee Plaza. may be you can delete same post above, it seems to be gobbledegoop Quote
Guest taylorsquare Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Yes Thankyou Paul. Well HEYGAY ,I havent visited GOODBOYS since July 2008 because I really didnt like the atmosphere there,it didnt seem very fun. Mind you it was low season so thats maybe why the male mamasan was cranky. But I have nearly a month left here so will get around a bit, just using GayRomeo more now. Quote

Yes I know the boss GOODBOYS can be over the top Ive known him for years, he was the assistant of Miss Sunee or Inchat her real name, so dont up set him to much. But some times they do have some talent, you can sample before you decide if you want to take a way. Yes get around a bit so much on offer, so little time and go to Happy Boys you may love that also, if you want a bit of slease go to Holiday 2 Butts or is the up stairs bar Tom Yum Night Club at Forest bar open some love it there I know? If you are awake around 2 am go to sky bar I know some guys who wake up just to go there nightly for good fun and many boys on tap after Bars are closed and free lancers. from midnight Number One Boys Nice large gogo bar just down the road from J.J. Karaoke. When I sent in there were about 20 boys there, in nice satin underwear. They were standing around and having fun. The place has a number of very comfy white sofas and has a good feel to it. More a "Boyztown" gogo bar than a Sunee Plaza one, but worth a look. Drinks reasonably priced. For those night owls who occassionally hit the bars after 1 in the morning, a new gay "coyote" dance club has opened up in north Pattaya called NAB. Though it competes with Xray for the nocturnal clubbers, it seems to be (right now that is) a top establishment that would fit right the Bangkok gay scene. Great energetic dancers (all good looking with a fit body) and some of the beef cakes are brought in from Bangkok. (Too many nellie, skinny ones in Pattaya?? )The entertainment (lip sync-dance production) was professionally done (started at 3am) and before that was a great modeling show with certain muscular fellows showing their toned bodies in tropical attire. The place was packed on a Sunday night --surprised. A couple nights ago my friend and I went to NABs early (before midnight) and the place was dead and the dancers were of the "norm" , so it is best to get there after 1 or 2am when the action begins (the place closes at 6Am). NAB is located at the entertainment complex (where Fashion club is) in north Pattaya after soi 6 on Second Rd. (before Xray).KaKaraokeraoke http://www.nickysgay.../sunee/map.html Quote

Guest taylorsquare Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Actually I did try the TOM YUM BAR upstairs in Sunee Plaza, next door to Forest bar,but it really doesnt do anything for me,im actually looking for real guys,I suppose we all have different tastes, its just i felt the odd one out sitting in some of the go go s in that area. Im not really attracted to young boys sorry to say and dont really agree with it,but its not up to me to pass judgement, except to say that i dont believe gay people are attracted to young boys less than legal age,,and im pretty sure the Gay Communities in the Western Countries agree. This may not be something you agree with ,maybe you belive the label "gay' describes them too? Without casting judgement on others who may call themselves "gay" ,I dont think Sunee Plaza is actually right for me,except the better bars such as Le Cage or Forest etc. To me it doesnt seem Sunee Plaza gets many "gay' customers, maybe I should stick to BOYZ BOYZ BOYZ in BOYZTOWN,where the actual gay community may be? I dont know if the customers in Sunee are actually gay? Reminds me years ago in San Fransico I think it was where the Gay Community refused a certain "group" to march with them as they were "pretending" to be gay and wanted to use that label to describe themselves. Guest Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I would avoid Mic My Bar, for reasons explained in your original post. Board rules prevent me from elaborating further. I hear Tom Yum has a similar reputation, but have never set foot in the place to check it out. For gogo bars isn't it best to try the Boystown bars plus Happy boys & Euroboys? Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 maybe you belive the label "gay' describes them too? It confuses me because there seems to be so many differing opinions about just what the term "gay" actually means. My view of "gay" is quite simple. To me, the word means males who are sexually attracted to other males. To me, it encompasses every aspect of that attraction, regardless of age, degree of butch or femme, preference for anal or oral sex, and so on. Also, I see the word "straight" often applied to certain kinds of homosexual activity. To me, that has never made much sense. I see "gay" as any form of homosexual sex. I see "straight" as any kind of heterosexual sex. I wonder if I just triggered off a debate about what the terms "gay" and "straight" truly mean. Quote

I have no idea what rubbish your talking about, the guys in Sunee are not really Gay, if you mean they act str8 and don't flaunt the fact they are Gay, yes that's True about most guys in Pattaya, thats exactly what we like about It, if you want Camp gay acting guys there is more in Phuket I have noticed for some reason, Gay acting queens have hounded us out of the Uk as they have taken over, with all their bitterness and twisted mind, bad enough writing on some of the forums, where I see some signs of it in Posters writing. The Age Hot potato, where I come from Europe, they have decided 16 years old is the age to decide if you want to have sex with the same sex, I have had a Villa in Spain for 18 years where the age is 14 also some other countries have similar, so if its legal to go with teenagers and you like it, good luck to them, you have to satisfy all tastes, if it is legal, I cant see what the problem is, unless you have been brain washed with some western prejudices, even Thais love early teens for sex and have no problem with taking them, apart from Pattaya. Fortunately I have an avoidance for anything under 7" so not many young teens could not satisfy my needs. paulg, on 21 January 2010 - 02:25 AM, said: Was that incident where you could not get past in the Corner bar. As for casting judgement that is exactly what you are trying to do with your innuendo of who is "gay" and who is not gay. I believe that GB clearly defined what is meant by gay. Quote
Bob Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 As for casting judgement that is exactly what you are trying to do with your innuendo of who is "gay" and who is not gay. I believe that GB clearly defined what is meant by gay. If you (Taylorsquare or others) are looking for a long-term relationship with a 100% "gay" person, I suppose it's relevant to you whether someone is "gay" or "not"; otherwise (meaning if you're just looking to have a certain brand of sex with another guy), why would you care if they're "gay", 98% "gay", or 10% "gay?" Is is that important that you know what they do on their own time or, perhaps, is the actual reality of their "gayness" irrelevant so long as you think their 100% gay? I'm not sure of your mindset there (or why you'd care unless you're looking for a long-term mate). As to GB's definition, I agree with his phraseology if one is asking what is or isn't gay activity but it hardly touches the almost undefinable concept of what is a "gay" person. I suppose that somebody who exclusively wants and engages in sex with a person of their own sex is pretty much "gay"; but, other than that situation (which likely doesn't apply to 90%+ of the boys in all the bars in Pattaya), it's A to Z and not likely to be accurately described by anybody.
