Guest Astrrro Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 A friend of mine is looking for a room where he can do a non-rush shortime (4 hours)near Sunee. He wants a place where the boy's ID will be scrutinized carefully but he doesn't want to carry a passport around just to check in. Howard's? Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 He'll have to ask the desk clerk to scrutinize the ID card unless he can plainly see that the clerk is doing it anyway. Howard's, Marina Inn, Ben Mansion, etc. around Sunee Plaza usually have short time rooms available. Many of the bars have their own short time rooms upstairs. Maybe he doesn't want to carry his passport around, but the law is the law. But unless he is staying very far away from Sunee Plaza, what's wrong with his own hotel room, or even the boy's own room for that matter? Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 The possible way around carrying your passport is to carry a copy of the face page and latest visa page. Technically, the law requires the passport, but I understand a copy will work also. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. (As if that wouldn't happen.) Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I know you carry around your passport but most guys I know prefer to keep it in a safe and perhaps carry a photocopy. My friend thinks that most bars won't think to kindly of using their rooms for 3-4-5 hours and doesn't want to feel rushed. Many of the boys live above the bar, right? As far as his hotel room, he's married. Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 As far as his hotel room, he's married. "I'm re--viewing The situation . . ." - Fagin, 'Oliver!' Sounds like a marriage made in heaven. Considering the way many of us feel about Pattaya, I guess it will be a divorce made in heaven if the wife catches him. And he's in no hurry???? As for being rushed, I've never heard of a bar saying "time's up" to anyone in a short-time room, at least until the bar closes. The boys who live upstairs won't be upstairs until the bar closes and many bars don't house the boys anyway. If he doesn't want to feel rushed, tell him to get there early . . . Also, if he's worried about feeling rushed, at the time he rents the short-time room he can tell the bar how long he wants the room and pay whatever their fee is for that length of time. He's better off, I think, just renting a hotel room for the night before he even hits the bars. Places like Howard's and Ben Mansion are so inexpensive anyway, I doubt it will hurt his bank account very much to do it that way. And if he does it that way, now he won't feel rushed. When he's finished doing whatever it is he's doing, he can just check out. He can also do the boy a favor and let him keep the room until check out time. A lot of these boys wouldn't mind at all having some privacy for a change and air conditioning. What poetic justice it would be if he pays extra to rent a short-time room for several hours so he can cheat on his wife, and the boy he takes to the room turns out to be a total dud. That would certainly give me my little laugh . . . Quote
Guest Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 600 baht++ on a hotel room is a very cheap compared with the cost of keeping a wife. Besides, after suffering that kind of burden, he should treat himself. The other option is to go & book a long massage at one of those places where the guys get their kit off. Quote

If I had a partner and wanted to try a bit on the side, even with the partner knowing, I would rent a room. Quote
Guest jomtien Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hmmmm....I don't know why the quote function went wacky on my last post. Maybe I shouldn't do this sober. Quote

I'd collapse with laughter, but it might do their marriage the world of good. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 He's better off, I think, just renting a hotel room for the night before he even hits the bars. We talked about that. But it seems he has a few particular boys in mind, and doesn't want to rent a room and then have his favorites turn out to be not available. As far as letting the boy keep the room till checkout time, it seems there could be reasons to make a clean break. For example, the boy goes back to his bar and a new customer offs him and a second boy and goes to the room registered in his name. Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hmmmm....I don't know why the quote function went wacky on my last post. Maybe I shouldn't do this sober. I fixed it for you. You left off the end-quote bracket. You were sober? I'm not sure I would have recognized you in that state . . . Where did he say he was cheating on his wife? If I had a partner and wanted to try a bit on the side, even with the partner knowing, I would rent a room. Well, I guess he didn't actually say it, but I kind of hope that's what he's doing . . . Maybe later, if he really likes the boy: He: "Honey, I hate to tell you this, but we're getting a divorce." She: "Huh?!?!? What are you talking about. Why, is there someone else . . . another woman?" He: "Not exactly." "I asked a girl to marry me. She said no. I asked why, is there someone else? She said, 'There must be.'" - Rodney Dangerfield Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 We talked about that. But it seems he has a few particular boys in mind, and doesn't want to rent a room and then have his favorites turn out to be not available. Right now the odds of that happening are quite remote. The bars, even during this high season, are not exactly filled to capacity with customers. For example, the boy goes back to his bar and a new customer offs him and a second boy and goes to the room registered in his name. The odds of that happening are even more remote. But even if that does happen, so what? What does he think would be the problem about that? I hope your friend is not stupid enough to take an under-age boy off. Assuming the boy is at least 18 years old, why would he care if the boy uses the room with another customer? Is he paranoid enough to figure the boy will give the room key to another boy, one who is under-age, and that boy goes to the room with a customer, and then the room gets raided? Even in that event it would be the farang with the under-age boy who gets arrested, not your friend. Anyway, the idea of the boy going back to the bar and getting taken off a second time, and assuming the farang who would take him off would want to go to a room where he would be using an unmade bed that had already just been used, instead of taking the boy to his own room, is kind of a strange thing to worry about, especially in light of the fact that these boys are lucky to be taken off two or three times a month, let alone twice in the same night. It seems to me your friend is kind of picky and wants to try to cover all possibilities of something going wrong, even the most oddball possibilities. Jomtien's point intrigues me. Is your friend doing this with or without his wife's knowledge? If it's with her knowledge, the idea of a threesome comes to mind . . . Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 What are you talking about. Why, is there someone else . . . another woman?" He: "Not exactly." I have a lovely T-shirt I got in Tokyo with this phrase in capitals on the front - MY WIFE JUST LEFT WITH MY BOYFRIEND AND I MISS HIM Have we actually established that he's married to a - WOMAN? Or is it a civil partnership? Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Jomtien's point intrigues me. Is your friend doing this with or without his wife's knowledge? Without and legally married. As far as the room, the idea of leaving the key with a Sunee barboy and being responsible for whatever happens such as minibar bills, late checkouts, yadda yadda would not be appealing to guy who is trying to be discreet IMO. Not if he pays for the room at the time he checks in, which is what most these places want you to do anyhow. And those rooms don't even have a mini bar. He won't exactly be checking into a Helmsley hotel . . . Quote
Guest Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 1 Rent cheap hotel room. 2 Get to preferred bars early, then you are almost certain to get a good choice. Anyone getting to Boystown by 9:00 pm is bound to find some very attractive guys. 3 Off guy take him to hotel room. Have fun. Escort him out of the room (why are people even discussing this?). Check out that evening or next morning. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Just looked at a whole bunch of (short)time rooms on Soi VC, and also RS on Soi Sunee, at around 8:30 PM. Price ranged form 300-600 for the night and 200-300 shorttime. Though it's unclear exactly how long shorttime is. Every place had a room available except Ben Mansion so I didn't get a peek at their rooms. Howard's was by far the nicest and has an excellent reputation so that will be my recommendation to my friend. The boy showing it to me joked that he came with the room. Quote
Guest Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 It is easy to find a short time room. Just ask the mamasan to arrange one for you and they will. If you ask the boys, they are usually able to find one as well. I have never not had someone who wanted to make money who didn't know where to go real fast. Quote
Guest selenic Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Price ranged form 300-600 for the night and 200-300 shorttime. I usually paid 400 for short time in Soi Vc. Which hotel did you find at 200/300? Quote

None said more than 300 but I walked in clearly shopping but if a new customer walks in with a boy in tow perhaps they'll quote higher. Quote
