Guest buckeroo2 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 There is a new French restaurant opening soon on the ground floor of the now closed Flamingo Hotel - it is called Montecristo's and it will feature French cuisine. The upgrade has been extensive. My understanding is that it will open in the next few days -they are definitely planning on opening prior to Christmas. Quote

There are three little sois running from Pattaya Tai to Soi 17. The Montechristo is on the middle of these three. Does anyone know the names of these three sois? Quote
Guest alaan Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Soi Day/Night one (which has the New Day-Night Hotel on it and Office Boys at the Soi 17 end) Soi Day/night Two (With the old Flamingo,Mosaik and Tuk Com) Soi Day/night Three (With Baan Dok Mai,Day-Night Hotel2 and Tuk Com) Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Thanks Alaan. Do the sois that intersect Day/Night 1, 2, and 3 have names, for example Office Boys is on the corner of Day/Night 1 and ? Quote
Guest alaan Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Ha....You know, Astrrro, I've been staying in that area for nigh on 8 years now 3-4 times a year and I've never known the names of those sub sois, which is all the more odd as I visit or walk though them every day when I stay there as some Mosaik rooms overlook them and my local laundry guy is there, as well as knowing a couple of boys who have rented rooms there. If 'Cats Place' has an address location printed anywhere it might have the information. If we don't find out if they have names before I arrive next month I'll be checking it out when I'm there. Guest PattayaPlayers Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Thanks Alaan. Do the sois that intersect Day/Night 1, 2, and 3 have names, for example Office Boys is on the corner of Day/Night 1 and ? The physical address of Office Boys is... Soi Day Night 20/77 Moo 10 Nongprue, Banglamung Chonburi, Thailand 20150 So, Moo 10 is the name of that cross street I believe. Hope this helps. Quote
Guest buckeroo2 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 My understanding is that it will open in the next few days -they are definitely planning on opening prior to Christmas. Update - the restaurant is named Le Montecristo and now there is a sign out front stating that they will open Dec 26 - guess they did not make it for Christmas. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 They made it for Christmas in the US. hehe Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 now there is a sign out front stating that they will open Dec 26 Passed by last night and they already had three No Parking Except For Customers signs out front. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 'Cats Place' is having a party on December 27th. Also every night between 10 and 11 is "string dancing". Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Think Moo 10 is a big area, far bigger than the entire Soi Day/Night area. Never figured out exactly how the Moos work though. Quote
Guest Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I ate there tonight and had a good time. I did see the prices on the menu and was not surprised. The place is decorated very well and the food was good. It was not fantastic but it was good. I thought the prices for the food were very reasonable. I did find that the 70-90 baht for water and soda high but that is what they charge. My steak was tasty (I had the pepper steak). A friend had the Red Wine Steak and I think I preferred his to mine. I also had an apple pie with ice cream (yes, I have a horrible sweet tooth) and it was OK. I think they did a great job with the Interior and decorations. While many will not want to eat there as there are other places in town cheaper, I did enjoy it. Quote
Guest joseph44 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Think Moo 10 is a big area, far bigger than the entire Soi Day/Night area. Never figured out exactly how the Moos work though. There we go again: A postal address in Thailand can be like this: Joseph44 5/75, Moo 5 20150 Thailand That's all it takes to get the mail delivered. A full addres is as follows: Joseph44 5/75, Moo 5, Naklua Road (house number, postal area, name of the road) T. Nongprue, A. Banglamung (Nongprue area, Banglamung district) Chonburi 20150 (province + zipcode) Thailand (country) Now, even the taxi-driver should be able to find your home. A Moo is just a postal area, I believe that the Banglamung district has 12 Moo's Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Moo 5 To be even more precise: หมู่บ้าน moo baan - noun = village Moo baan is shortened to 'moo' Quote
PattayaMale Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 To be even more precise: หมู่บ้าน moo baan - noun = village Moo baan is shortened to 'moo' Why not "shortened" to Muu???? Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Why not "shortened" to Muu???? A typo on my part, which I have now corrected, although I have on occasion seen the 'muu' spelling used. 'Moo' or simply 'M.' are the two most common. Quote
