Peter, who owns Kenya's Romantic Garden on Soi Chayapook, Jomtien was stabbed to death in his bar earlier today. This wasnt a gay bar as such but i went there with boys and no probs,such a sad situation. At times i get scared walking in Pattaya at night. I have been assisted by the farang tourist police who were very good. Walking Street at night is particuarly bad,I always get nervous there. In good news I heard the alleged murderer has been caught,alleged to have been a German male who had been asked to leave the bar earlier in the night who alleged to have come back. Quote

Timo was a casual friend whom I had met at the bar on several occasions, fluent in English and easy going. Peter was the greatest. I had met him in the third week of July in 2008. He helped me find a house, a teaching position,and my dog; and being at his bar gave me an opportunity to brush up on my German language skills, which had gone lame over the past four decades. He had a ready ear for a problem and, while he was quick to offer information, he never advised. His degree in hotel management served him well. While other bars were losing money, his was still profitable and the prices for drinks were low. Despite the fact that he had few gay patrons, he nearly always had a katoey working the bar. I had not seen Tim at that bar a lot in the past six months. Even his girlfriend had stopped coming. I never figured him to be a junkie but, as I mentioned, we were not that well acquainted. Since I was moving out of Pattaya, I made a point of stopping to see Peter twice in the past two weeks. I don't give two shits what Tim's reason was. It doesn't justify this. Quote
