Oct. 15, 2009 -- Even limited exposure to secondhand smoke can increase the odds of heart attacks in people who have heart disease or are at risk, an expert panel report commissioned by the CDC confirms.

I will probably get chatised here, but no problem. The thing regarding doctor reports is that every ten years or so, the opinion of the experts change.

In the 30's (no, I am not that old) people with TB were told that cigarette smoking was healthy for them.

So, I will either smoke or not according to my desire and not that of "professionals".

My father, a doctor, smoked 60 a day, most at a time when the tar content of cigarettes was very high. Despite growing medical opinion about the harms of smoking, he firmly believed that the cause of cancer was not the tobacco but the lighter fuel! Consequently, he always used matches. Perhaps not surprisingly, he died of cancer, but of the liver, not lungs.
