Guest BobbO Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 A few years ago I stayed at the Flamingo Hotel, just a block over from Soi VC and Sunee. Now I can't find it's website or any contact information. Has it closed? Quote
Guest tdperhs Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 The hotel and restaurant are both closed and, I believe, they are for sale. Quote
Guest Oogleman Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 very much closed and boarded up. Seems to be some Thais living in there. Quote
Guest HeyGay Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Most of their customers stay at Mosaik now, cheaper better or Venue Gay Hotel. same price there abouts, but much better. http://www.mosaikpattaya.com/ http://www.thevenuejomtien.com/ Quote
Guest alaan Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 BobbO i'm not sure if you are asking because you are thinking of visiting Pattaya again. If you are.......then I am one of those former Flamingo customers now moved to Mosaik as Hey Gay mentioned. To be honest I was considering moving to Mosaik even if the Flamingo had stayed open....i only kept on there because of the laid back ambience and Jaap the manager. Sad to see it close but it was in need of a major refurbishment. After i paid a visit to see the Mosaik rooms and then compared them to the tired Flamingo rooms...a move was certain..... For high season price of bt7,600 plus electric per week/7 nights for a very modern plush and spacious one bedroom appartment with balcony looking over the soi across from the Famingo..with beautiful bathroom and very comfortable leather suite and large comfortable bed....and also small kitchen area.... for the Flamingo 1 bed suite the lowest i could get was Bt1500 per day = bt10,500 ok that included breakfast and of course daily cleaning.....but often if i was sleeping late i didn't bother to get my room at the Flamingo cleaned daily. Cheaper in low season and cheaper for the deluxe studio rooms which are still very spacious with kitchen area. To be honest the Mosaik rooms are very easily kept...and i just put the towels into the local laundry for next to nothing....and you have your own key or two to come and go as you please....Recommended if you plan to stay in the Day/Night area. Guest Astrrro Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 For those who want cheap accomdation in that area the Soi Day/Night 2 Hotel above the Gossip Cafe has rooms for 5K baht a month if you pay three months upfront. For more upscale guys I recommend seeing Patrice at the My View/VCC Condos a couple of minutes away. Really nice rooms for 12K a month. Daily rate is 1/30th of the monthly rate making it quite the bargain for short stays. Quote
Guest BobbO Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Thanks for the info on the fate of the Flamingo. I enjoyed it for a few days but it was tired and needed work. Maybe someone will take it over and rejuvenate it. I like what I see on Mosaik's website and when I come back for a longer stay, I think I'll check that out. For now, I'm only going to be in town for 2 weeks at the holidays. Thanks again. I can't wait to get back. I'm hoping as the high season gets under way someone will give us a rundown of what bars are hopping. I liked JimJimmyJames but haven't heard if it's reopened. BobbO CA Quote
