Guest tdperhs Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 I am moving northeast from Pattaya and have enough personal effects and furniture to need a moving company. Anyone with any experience with a Thai moving company? Thank you. Quote
mahjongguy Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 If you have a Thai friend to go with you, go out on Sukhumvit road just before you get to Homeworks/Big C (coming from Na Jomtien). You will see several of the big highway trucks parked by the curb. These are the ones with mud flaps painted with tigers, Elvis, etc. Those guys will haul your stuff to Issan at the best price. For 8,500 baht you get it all, including a worker or two to load and unload your stuff. Your Thai friend can ride in the truck with them. Quote
Guest tdperhs Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Great lead, especially since I live about 1 km from that place and I have a Thai houseboy who is moving with me. Thanx Do you also have a lead on where I might get boxes and packing material? Quote
Gaybutton Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Do you also have a lead on where I might get boxes and packing material? If it still exists, I've seen a Pack and Ship place on Sukhumvit, on the west side (the beach side) between Pattaya Tai and Pattaya Klang. Also, you can buy boxes at UPS outlets. The nearest to you is on Second Road, right near the Boyztown area. You can also ask at grocery stores and large hardware stores, such as HomeWorks and Big-C. THey might give boxes to you. Quote
Guest Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I think Pattaya has an Office Depot and they have boxes and all other supplies. I used them recently in Bangkok and was able to find everything I needed at a very reasonable price. Quote
Guest jtrack33 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Living in a big condo building in Bangkok, I see daily many moves in progress into and out from my building complex. They are all handled efficiently by local moving companies who provide all the labor and boxes and packing to do it easily from door to door. A while back i ordered some teak furniture to be made in that huge furniture village just south of Chiang Mai. The shop arranged with a local mover who shipped down all the furniture to my condo including positioning and removing all the packing for just about 5% of the furniture value. Here is a list of some movers/storers in the Pattaya area taken from the Thai yellow pages: PTY Packing And Logistics Co Ltd Address: Tumbol Nongprue Amphoe Bang Lamung Chonburi Tel.: 038426668 Fax.: 038426669 Category: Moving & Storage Service Payment type Phatthaya Moving And Service Co Ltd Address: Tumbol Nongprue Amphoe Bang Lamung Chonburi Tel.: 038425741 Category: Moving & Storage Service E A M Transport Co Ltd Address: Tumbol Thungsukhla Amphoe Si Racha Chonburi Tel.: 038493847, 038493849 Fax.: 038494315 Category: Moving & Storage Service Products & Services | Working hour Quote
