Guest fountainhall Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Does this sound somewhat familiar? Thaksin Shinawatra has described himself as the most persecuted person "in the entire history of the world". Mr Thaksin also said he was "the best prime minister we can find". In an impassioned statement, he then mistakenly told reporters he had spent millions on "judges", before correcting himself to say "lawyers". He has described the cases against him as "false, a farce", saying he will defend himself in court and make his accusers look ridiculous. Actually it's a slightly altered and abridged version of a report on today's BBC website with Thaksin's name substituted for Italy's Prime Minister (and football team owner) Silvio Berlusconi. Wasn't Berlusconi one of Thaksin's idols? Quote
Guest taylorsquare Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 and i can believe he spent..........or should i say donated millions to judges. Quote

But the courts have just stripped him of the immunity he had worked so hard to put in place. So maybe . . just maybe . . he'll face justice - or flee Quote
