Guest fountainhall Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 1-2-Go Airlines has launched a new Travel pass offering unlimited flights for a period of between one to three months. The 30 day pass costs Bt. 15,000, 60 days Bt. 28,000 and 90 days Bt. 39,000. The pass must be purchased prior to October 31. When I read this, I thought it might be a great deal. However, looking at the small print on the airline's website, I note that the airport taxes are NOT included and must be paid separately prior to each flight. Also, 1-2-Go only flies from Don Mueang to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Had Yai and Trang - so the route network is pretty basic. No flights to Issarn, for example. So, if you are just flying to and from one destination a week, you'll probably find cheaper deals with the other budget airlines. Details at http://www.fly12go.com/en/promotion/ Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Isn't 1-2-Go the airline that crashed in Phuket? I think they were on the EU unsafe airline list. Good phone service but I wouldn't get denatl work done by my butcher. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 Isn't 1-2-Go the airline that crashed in Phuket? The very same, and it was found that pilot error was at the least a contributing factor in the crash. I've heard of no problems since then. I did not realise the parent Orient Thai had flown to Europe, but it and 1-2-Go were certainly banned from European airspace starting in April 2009. I'd not take 1-2-Go or Orient Thai anywhere. As I've mentioned in this room before, every time I am at Suvarnabhumi (which is a lot) I see a truly ancient 747-100, an ancient 747-200 and one semi-ancient 747-300 parked on the same spots on the tarmac. They never seem to go anywhere (apart from one flight a day to Hong Kong) and I imagine them just sitting there slowly rusting. The average age of their 747's is 26.7 years, which I find scary. The domestic fleet is made up of different aircraft, including MD_80s'. Quote
