Yes Colin the Scottish Boss, told me he is opening an open Host bar there far less problems he says.

Now the Corner Bar is SOLD, get ready for changes there,

 

I was there last night and wouldn't want to see any changes. Boys that don't hassle u and a half bottle of Sang Som including a bunch of mixers for 260 makes it a cost effective place for farangs to hang out and shoot the breeze.

I always get mixed up: There are 2 bars on a corner. One with about 50 seats in a rather fancy look; rattan 'design' chairs and a pool-table next to Villa Rouge and the other one (opposite) looking a bit 'cheaper' with plastic chairs and next to Redgy's Bar.

Which of the 2 is the Corner Bar?

Corner bar is the fancier of the two. However, the plastic chairs bar has a much better view IMHO. That is the bar that is a real gold mine if someone were to take it over and fix it up nice. But, their "regulars" seem to like the plastic and cheap prices. It might just destroy the place.

 

Corner Bar is a nice bar with a good location and I wish the new owner great success.

Last time I was in Sunee enjoying a drink in Wan's Place which is more or less immediately opposite, I asked what it was called and was told "Green Bar". I don't know if that's its official name but even if not it seems appropriate.

Spoke to the owner of Corner Bar tonight and he said the bar was not sold, just an unfounded rumour.

 

Nice place to shoot the shit with other farangs and not much more expensive than Minimart 24.

I do hope the English man opens up a beer bar. I think he would do well with one. I think his biggest mistake over the years was putting too much trust into some of his employees. Sometimes you don't have a choice but in that business, you have to watch them like a hawk. Not something I would be good at.

I have also heard from other bar owners. I have to ask that people do not post personal information about others or rumors about business dealings. I was asked to make it clear that if a bar owner wants his business dealings posted, he'll either post it himself or will contact me and ask me to do the posting about it.

 

I ask that my request voluntarily be honored, so that I won't have make sure it is forcibly honored. Ok? Thank you.

How Strange considering, Mr “GayThailand himself” originally broke the news of the “Corner Bar” being sold on here or had heard it may be, and 3 people advised me it was on the verge of being sold, may be the sale has fallen through and they are looking for a better offer or they want to just disappear with out any fuss or may be they think customers will stop coming when they know its sold.

 

I normally double check my sourses, but as I'm in Bangkok the only reason I said it was sold, is because 3 individual people, told me who dont know each other, and GayThailand had heard the same.

 

In future I will make sure as I normally do, that my sourses are genuine, even though I think as so many people know, something is going on.

 

 

Time will tell.

I don't see bar owners posting here or active in the community of forum boards. Until they do, they run a business which relies on customers. As such rumors will be there. We will try to protect those we know are untrue but we will not be removing posts or editing posts every time a bar owner requests it. There is a difference between a libelous post and one asking questions.

Hear Hear, my sentiments exactly, what they says to people in the bar and wonder why its repeated on the forums and what they say after, is 2 different things.

I know I have gone through this before with Corner Bar, the owner told me personally he wanted to sell, when I told the story to, as I thought to help him, he got a Catty person to contact the web site, to say its not for sale, when I next met the owner, he said he did not complain, he would not know how to, another guy did it, all he was upset about was, quote :- "I put the wrong price" so as its on now the market, if it’s not sold yet, I’m sure it will be soon, if the price is right, same as the boy you can off there.

Fine, but be damned careful about what you say. The one caught right in the middle of these disputes is me, and that's not a position I appreciate being placed in. I didn't post these things, but I'm always the recipient of the complaints and I'm the one living here and having to deal personally with these people.

 

It places me in a no win situation. If I leave these posts alone, I'm the one who has to take the heat from the victims of the posts. If I do something about the posts, I'm the one who has to take the heat from the message board end. Either way, through no fault of my own, I end up taking the heat.

 

Meanwhile, none of these posts came from me in the first place. GT has advised me that when this kind of issue comes up, he prefers that I just make the post invisible rather than edit anything out. From now on that's what I'll do. It's his board and I'll abide by his wishes.
