Guest Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Premature slap on my back What a pain in the ass Mark. Sorry. Do you feel that the Thai owned places get a free pass at time? I hope that your place is able to stay open as you didn't say one of the 5 bars is yours. If it is, that tells you what a sham all these raids are. IMHO Quote
Gaybutton Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Premature slap on my back If the 90-day closures take place, that will also create a serious hardship for the staff. When they close down 1 bar, the boys don't have too much of a problem finding work in another bar. But if they're going to shut down 5 bars, that's going to mean somewhere around 100 boys and bar staff out of work for 90 days. It could create a windfall for the bars that remain open. It could also force bars that are already in financial trouble to go out of business. On the other hand, it could make some of the scofflaw bar owners realize that the authorities are not playing games anymore about bars that continue to employ under-age boys. If this does occur, then part of the 90 days will be during the beginning of high season, not a good time for the bars to have to be closed. Quote
Guest koeninthailand Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Premature slap on my back, well if they have fined you already 2.000 bath then like you said case closed your bar will not be include those 5 and I think it is not in Sunee Plaza, but in the area from Sunee Plaza they will close some bars If they are so quick with this 2.000 bath fine then it means for them there is no more ... otherwise they wait and come with all the fines together good for you koeninthailand Quote

It is a Small fine for the boy 300-500Bht The bar was find 2000Bht But now I have found my self on the wrong side of the Law, wich I am as thay have proved, but it looks like thay are going whole out to tar ever body with the same brush and close Sunee gogo bars all in one go. For all you Mark kikers should be amussing right know. It is not the police closing the Bars but the licencing office and Govenor of Chonburi. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Thais have to be 20 to drink in a bar. In 6 years I have never seen this enforced, but it is the law Maybe not in Pattaya, but it has certainly been rigidly enforced for some years in Silom Soi 2. I found it quite flattering to be asked for my passport before I could gain entry Against that, though, my Thai friends tell me of many discos out near the Ladphrao district where Thais of 17 and 18 etc. are all drinking and dancing late into the night. It is not the police closing the Bars but the licencing office and Govenor of Chonburi I accept that the law is the law and has to be obeyed, whatever one thinks about it. But I'd have thought this heavyweight action may turn out to be another nail in the rapidly dwindling tourism industry coffin, the more so as 90 days takes us well into the so-called 'high' season. Granted it's unlikely to stop tourists coming this year, but after they find out that a slew of bars are closed, my guess is they'll think twice about returning. Is there no possibility of appeal? It always s*cks, when things like this happen. What I can't gather, is that if you're going to be closed, you're punished twice for the same offense.......it's like speeding on Sukhumvit and be fined by the local BIB and 25 meters further down the road fined again by the high way police for the same offense. Of course TiT, but it's certainly food for a lawyer. Anyway, I've read somewhere, that whatever happens: You have support!! Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 The krazy Dragon is on the list 1 Villa Rouge-kaos-The red house 2 Sundance 3 Euroboys 4 Tumyum 5 Krazy Dragon Strolled around Sunee last night and this is the short term situation. Guest Astrrro Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 It could create a windfall for the bars that remain open. It could also force bars that are already in financial trouble to go out of business. Some thoughts...... It might help the other Sunee gogos in the short term as some will need their gogo fix but it will hurt the Sunee Beer bars. People like to go out in vibrant areas, not in areas with shuttered buildings. Cat's Place dark deserted location just doesn't work despite being the only gogo in the Day/Night area. Didn't work as a ladyboy bar. Doesn't work as a boy bar. However if there were 10 other gogos surrounding it perhaps it'd be successful. Rents are higher on Walking Street than on the Darkside; competition brings customers. Quote
