who can recommend a gay (friendly) hotel or guesthouse in Patong beach with swimmingpool,

within walking distance of the Paradise complex? I saw all guesthouses in Paradise complex do not

have a swimming pool, wich is essentiual to me.

I always liked Patong Beach Bungalows.

Place I first stayed when I went to first went to Phuket a decade ago. The place was wiped out by the tsunami and then I understood it was being rebuilt. But (and I don't have a clue where I read this), I remember reading something last year or so that the place no longer exists. Given my memory, I suppose I could be wrong.

The last time I was in Phuket was before the Tsunami. I hope they rebuilt Patong Beach Bungalows. If they did, it would fit exactly what Hans030 is looking for. If not, someone else will have to make a recommendation. I'm simply not familiar enough with Phuket to know where else to recommend, given his criteria.

Hans, I understand that a swimming pool is essential to you.

But one can use the Paradise Hotel swimming pool for a small fee if not staying there. I paid 100 baht each time I wanted to use it. Others have reported it to be free if they order food or beverage poolside.

Two recommendations are the Rendezvous which is gay owned and operated and The Place To Stay which is a boutique guesthouse catering to the ladyboy lover niche market. They are right across the soi from each other and both a one minute walk to the Paradise Hotel.

I saw another post on another board this morning that said Patong Beach Bungalows was operating earlier this year; if so, maybe it's still open. Was a great location (right on the beach - and the gay section, minimal though it was, was right in front of it - and a reasonable walk to the gay venues) and had a pretty nice swimming pool too.
