Guest taylorsquare Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 As a sex tourist,I have been coming to Pattaya twice a year for my holidays/vacation. I always bypass Bangkok and taxi it straight to Pattaya. I haven't been to Bangkok since about 2005. Last time I went I didn't like the pushiness in your face type and the expensive prices but after being in Pattaya this year again,I was very bored. Well.I'm now reconsidering Bangkok ,and what it may offer. Having a look at Richards Bar/pub website it seems i having been missing out on a lot. Do you still prefer Pattaya to Bangkok? What cant you get in Pattaya than you can in Bangkok? Pattaya to me is becoming stale and........boring. Quote

Well.Im now reconsidering Bangkok ,and what it may offer...... I think the only places you will find "the pushiness in your face type and the expensive prices" is in the bars of Soi Twilight. Really agressive touts and drinks at 250 Baht. It surprizes me that anyone still goes there. You should try Solid Bar in Soi 6 (drinks 120 Baht); the terraces of Telephone or Balcony in Silom Soi 4 are full of eager freelancers every night or DJ Station, again full of freelancers who will approach you. Drinks in Soi 4 are around 75 Baht for a G+T or Beer and 100 Baht in DJ Station. Also try Gay Romeo - it never fails and there are usually over 300 people in Bangkok on line throughout the afternoon and evening. And don't forget Babylon sauna late afternoon and early evening after offices close a lot of guys go there. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I hate the madness and congestion in BKK. I go there on occasion for theater, but I am always happy to leave to get home to Pattaya. Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I am always happy to leave to get home to Pattaya. Me too. I love traveling throughout Thailand, but I always appreciate Pattaya even more when I return. I think everyone should experience Bangkok at least once, high prices and all. Chiang Mai and Phuket too. It's a different strokes for different folks kind of thing. Some people fall in love with Pattaya. Some with Bangkok. Some, other place, and so on. You'll never know unless you try. Quote
Guest HeyGay Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Yes Pattaya is an amazing Place to be but if you stay to long with out going to other places in thailand you do get a form of Pattaya swine Illness, it makes you going round in a circle like a Dog Trying to catch its tale, Beach, Restaurant, Bar... Beach, Restaurant, Bar... Beach, Restaurant, Bar. If you want to like Bangkok take on a small area at a time, remember only go to the Tourist Bars for a fun evening out DON'T OFF GUYS UNLESS, HE is SUPERSTAR STUNNING, You can get much better Guys for less in a Massage Parlors or other Bars or even just walk around any Shopping Complex or go to the wash room BIG C CHITLOM or SILOM COMPLEX, your soon see a very good looking guy, who wants to go with you, many for free amazingly enough. Type you can exspect to meet below. Quote

I dont know if i would have the confidence or even the patience in trying to chat them up and ask them. For anyone interested here is a story written on pattaya vs bangkok by a bar owner in the Jomtiem complex. http://www.stickmanweekly.com/ReadersSubmissions2009/reader5359.htm Quote
Guest pingalicker Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Some things are better in Pattaya and some are better in Bangkok. Bangkok has thee best boxing in the world (IMHO). The choice of men is tops in Bangkok. There is the weekend market @ Chatukuak (sp) the Chao Praya river is fun. On the downside is the very bad air pollution. The traffic congestion and higher prices turn me off. In Pattaya I love getting around on my rented motobike. There's the beach, which offers endless hours of enjoyment. The boxing is held twice a week at the stadium in Pattaya, and it's usually pretty good, but BKK is Mecca for Thai boxers at Lumphini and Ratchemendon stadiums. The choices of men for hire in Pattaya leans toward the less masculine, but if one seeks, one shall find the man of your liking. It also seems to rain a heck of lot more in Bangkok than in Pattaya. I LOVE them both! Otherwise I would vacation somewhere else. I have had the best vacations of my life in these two cities, and plan to have many more. Quote
Guest Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Bangkok is a vibrant & exciting city with lots of things to see & do. Pattaya does not offer the variety of daytime entertainment that Bangkok does. However, Pattaya seems to be the one place in the world with a better range of gogo bars than Bangkok. I figure it makes sense to visit both destinations, unless your holiday is ridiculously short. By the way, if I meet up with some local talent in a BKK shopping centre in the afternoon, it doesn't matter if he's a bar boy or not. Quote
firecat69 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I felt the same way last year after spending 90% of my time in Pattaya, the last 10 years. It all boils down to preferences. I have spent almost all my time the last year (4 trips totaling 4 months) in Bangkok. I always referred to Pattaya as Disneyland of Sex. I just got tired of it. Bangkok is a real city with real people 99% of who make a living having nothing to do with sex. The city does not exist because of sex . There are museums and Galleries and Parks etc befitting a major city. For the most part none of this exists in Pattaya. Sex wise the massage parlors in Bangkok are so far superior to Pattaya that they are not even worth comparing. Soi Twilight is very expensive but the boys there are willing to see you outside of the bars and you can mitigate those costs. Soi 4 with Balcony etc are priced more like the outdoor bars in Pattaya. The opportunity to meet someone outside the sex trade is much better in BKK although naturally it requires some work. As Mr Gaythailand will attest there are beautiful boys everywhere and most of them have no idea about Soi Twilight or such places. Restaurants at the middle to high end are far superior to anything in Pattaya where most are geared to tourists. In BKK the restaurants rely on repeat customers most of whom are Thai. They don't make it if they do a poor job. Just as an example 2 of the 3 best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at are in Bangkok. I don't ride motorbikes so I find the transportation in BKK far superior to Pattaya. Air conditioned taxis at reasonable rates or the Skytrain or subway instead of dirty smelly baht buses which are loaded with pickpockets. You have to learn when not to take a taxi because of traffic jams but these times and areas are easily learned. Bangkok also has multiple serviced apartments that are far superior to anything Pattaya has to offer. These are great for 7 day or longer stays and you can find all price ranges. The low end places put Mosaik to shame. Will I visit Pattaya? Absolutely!!!! They have some fun bars and if you want the younger boys (18+), they are more readily available. The beach is a nice diversion but for me had gotten to be same same every day. I think you will enjoy spending more time in Bangkok and if not you can always return to the Disneyland of Sex. Quote
