Guest mauRICE
Gee, how DOES an entire country become a teacher of English? I suppose having good grammar helps. Have you given this enough thought? Did you consider alternative forms of employment like selling cheeseburgers and fancy cocktails?

Guest wowpow
Hello Mr. Lovely - tell your friend to try http://www.stickmanbangkok.com another good site for information. Ignore those who scorn people who have not had the benefit of a superb education or are not writing in their native tongue. Cheap shots. One thing is that if you are recruited from abroad your benefits will be much higher than if recruited locally. He would need good qualifications, of course? Between ourselves, on the Internet and generally it is wise to use both big and little letters ( upper and lower cases) as all Capitals is SHOUTING and to be used sparingly. Gaybutton
Another way is to simply go to individual schools and ask if they need a native English speaking teacher. Many do and they will help you through the paperwork and obtaining a work permit. Most schools offer a salary of between 20,000 to 25,000 baht per month. They will require quite a bit of paperwork and now, in the aftermath of the John Michael Karr affair, the standards are far more stingent than ever before. It is my understanding that they will require police reports, college transcripts, proof of prior teaching experience, a letter of recommendation from the school at which one was previously employed, etc, and it all must be verifiable.
