Guest Steve1903 Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Ok guys, please forgive cos I know this has been done a hundred times already. Having considered my options I have decided to come over there in November rather than risk a September washout. Four years since I have been in Pattaya which is waaay too long. Things change and good places go bad, bad places get taken over and improve so whats hot and whats not for this year? Just looking for recommendations on where to stay. Or if anyone is trying to rent out their place the last two weeks in November then now's your chance to make your pitch. Quote
Guest Oogleman Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 any price restrictions? give us a budget range. Quote
Guest Steve1903 Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Not really got a budget as such but for comparison previous lodgings were View Talay and before that The Ambiance at Boyztown. Quote
Guest Oogleman Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Ok - I`ll start with. Twoguys guest house in Sunee area for around 700 baht a night is great value with breakfast included. The owner also rents out condos in yensabai though you would need to check availabilty with him. http://www.twoguysguesthouse.info/ In Jomtien - the venue had a promotion until 1 oct - check out their website - you might be able to get the discounted rate if you book early enough. http://www.thevenuejomtien.com/residence.html Im sure others will add plenty more suggestions when they wake. Guest Steve1903 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Is The Venue a new place or an old place with a different name? Don't remember that from before. Twoguys looks decent value. Anywhere else guys? Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Is The Venue a new place or an old place with a different name? The Venue ( http://www.thevenuejomtien.com ) is an old place with a different name. It is in Jomtien Complex. It was The Bondi. The Bondi sold out to the current owners. The entire bar area has been renovated. I don't know how much renovation work was done on the rooms. Don't confuse The Bondi with the new Bondi bar that just last week opened along the walkway to the gay beach area. That's a totally different outfit. That particular Bondi is owned by the former owners of the Oz bar. Quote
Guest Patexpat Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 The Venue is hardly an old place with a new name - the building was gutted to the concrete support columns and rebuilt internally - the rooms are NOTHING like the old Bondi - very modern and i guess middle market ... Quote
Guest ButterballBruce Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I usually stay in View Thalay 5 booked through Asian Escapes. Very nice studios and close to the bitch. Quote
