Candle Paradise Spa in Bangkok

Recommended Posts

Well, I took the plunge today and visited the spa. Many have said on this forum they wanted someone to find the place and to test it. I did half the work today. My taxi driver drove me directly there with no problem. However, I did call in advance and they told him where it was and without asking, they sent a boy out to the street to meet the taxi.

Once inside the parking garage there are MANY other massage places including Gents. The first floor of the garage seemed to be filled with many different massage places.

Candle was beautiful inside. Decorated very well and looked very classy.

They do not have the boys parading around like the other places and instead had a book of photos. This reminded me of a place I went to in KL a few times.

The price for 90 minutes aroma massage was 700 or 800 baht I believe. They had a recommended tip for the boy of 300 baht for the massage. But, they stressed it was only recommended.

I found 2 guys in the book I liked. One they would not tell me what he would do for the "happy ending" and the other was gay and occupied in another session.

The manager did not want to discuss what the guys do or don't do. He kept telling me it was not that kind of place. I will go back for the gay boy to see how it is but today was not my day.

Finding the place is very easy. Once you pass the Siam Commercial bank, turn left. Walk down a bit and there is an apartment building that is pretty high with the garage. Once I found it today, I know it will be easy to find again and again. I agree if you are in a taxi, they will have a very hard time to find it. If you speak Thai, you will find it easier than most. If you know the area, you will find it. If you turn directly next to Siam you will walk past the building. It is is a VERY Thai area and many people may not find it the most comfortable place to walk at night if you have not been there.

The manager was nice and friendly just was not willing to give out "special" info on the guys. I will try again and see if the gay boy is there and how the massage goes at some point in the future.

Well, I made the offer -

If anyone can get a taxi to find this place, I'll buy the drinks!

- and since GT found it, I happily stand by my part of the deal and offer him drinks at a hostelry of his choice (even though he did have to call and get directions  ). How about Vertigo at the top of Banyan Tree early one evening, GT?

One item on GT's post struck a chord -

The manager did not want to discuss what the guys do or don't do. He kept telling me it was not that kind of place

It seems this is much more a pure spa and definitely not a 'happy ending' kind of place. The manager's comments in his subsequent post and the fact that the minimum tip is only Bt. 300 bears this out. After all, most 'happy ending' establishments have a minimum tip of around Bt. 1,000.

So, just for interest, last night I dug deep into the posts on another Board and discovered a thread from about 18 months ago relating to what was then called the Candle T Spa. That was off Rama 4 and seems to be the old name for Candle Paradise (although I also discovered there is another with a very similar name elsewhere in Bangkok). The massage review was good, but it was described as a place for "non-sexual" massage and the lack of expected happy endings was highlighted. It will be interesting to hear about GT's experience on his next visit.

Yes, I reckon these directions are much easier to follow for those going on foot. It's not more than 10 minutes from the subway exit, although you have to cross that bridge. An alternative is to take the Night Bazaar exit from the subway as you then do not have to cross the road. At street level, do a U-turn and go along the other side of Rama 4 until you come to the Siam Commercial Bank, after which you turn left and proceed for about 100 meters.

I'm hoping someone will now post their experiences of the Spa.

Yes, I hope someone posts their experience there as well. I am kind of a slut and usually looking for "happy endings". :)

But, the new direction really is excellent and helpful.

If you are staying at either the Pinnacle Hotel or the Malaysia Hotel, it should be very easy to get there. It's within easy walking distance. From the Malaysia Hotel it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to walk. From either hotel just walk down to Rama IV. Turn right. Cross the first pedestrian bridge you come to. That's the bridge in the photos above. It should be easy to follow the directions from there.
