frazzle Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I'm doing my first solo trip to Bogota before meeting a friend in Medellin. My plan is to meet a few sex workers who I've found through one of the agency recommendations here. Yes, I know this isn't recommended but I'll take several precautions and accept the risk. One issue is I can't find any place to stay where I can discreetly bring them back to. AirBnB makes it really hard to see which buildings have doormen and which have no guest policies. As far as I can tell from reading here and elsewhere, most hotels don't allow guests at all and if they do they have to register with the front desk and you have to pay an extra fee. This isn't ideal, I'd like somewhere that isn't so strict or at least a place I can walk up with them to without being bothered. There are so few houses available for rent in the city. I have a flexible budget and every reasonably nice house is on a gated street with its own security guard... so the exact same issue. I'm just trying to hookup with some guys discreetly. Are there any options other than motels? I've read a ton of threads here and feel like I may be missing something obvious. Quote
Members Latbear4blk Posted February 26 Members Posted February 26 I have never had problems bringing guests to my Airbnb. If you have any doubts, contact the host. Needless to say, it is of no one business what you and your guests do, when we rent we have the right to bring friends for diner. AsianExplorer and xpaulo 2 Quote
aaroninatl Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I have been lucky w the Airbnb I've used too. But keep in mind in Chapinero there are at least a dozen love motels. They're cheap and add a little fun to the experience. Riobard 1 Quote

The motel I have used also didn’t unlock the reception exit unless I ushered my ‘guest’ out in person after the session. The room was modern and very nice. I disagree that one cannot determine Airbnb guest policy ahead of booking. They are written or absent. I do agree that it is wise to communicate intent to host a friend for quiet drinks/dinner but not “party” events and that you wish to view any guest policy prior to booking, not be presented with new regulations at the point (usually 24-48 hrs) detailed check-in instructions are released. This inquiry may raise eyebrows but may help you to disqualify the more rigid host. The majority of hosts recognize we don’t live in a social vacuum. Nationals using the platform would, in fact, be expected to host friends because that would be the primary reason for renting the place. Hosts just don’t want noise complaints or damaging wear and tear. AsianExplorer 1 Quote
12is12 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Frazzle, I checkes last year, and there were several hotels reported as open to visitors without payment: Viaggio 617, bogo 64, mercure. What's an "agency rcmndtion here"? Quote

speedoo1 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Hotels: Mercure BH Zona Financiera and Holiday Inn Exp. & Suites Bogota. Airbnb: just message the host before you and ask if visitors are allowed. Most will reply that it is no issue even with doormen/security at the front desk/entrance. Local guys have no issue showing ID to security staff to visit you; it is entirely normal. maump Posted March 30 Posted March 30 I did 4 airbnb in medellin. one had a front desk guy who insisted on ID and maybe (nicely) frowned on the number of men I had in and out but no problem (and oddly on the last day gave me the contact info of a male friend who did massages). . the last host gave me a bad review for "violating the no guest rule" which was in fact NOT in the list of rules. This time I'm staying closer to Chapinero and again renting a standalone house. It's just considerably more expensive. In Medellin I stayed in an apartment with a doorman and it was a pain having every escort or Grindr hookup sign in. Latbear4blk, Marc in Calif and Mavica 2 1 Quote
Members young11 Posted May 1 Members Posted May 1 Which area is desirable to stay for first time visitor? So hopefully safe to walk at night alone, and close to the actions: I wanna visit saunas and massage parlors where I can hire on spot ... I vaguely read there are a few of those in the city? Quote

There are definitely a lot of clubs, saunas & massage parlors, Id say stay in Chapinero close to Parque de los Hippies, you can stay on the nicer side of Avenida 7(?), but overall Bogota isn't that safe to walk around at night unless there's a lot of people out or you're in a group, unless you wanna stay far away from all the action. macdaddi and young11 2 Quote

For a first visit, stay in Chapigay. Everything is walking distance and all of the gay-ness is walking distance. There are also a few clubs and bars in Zona T immediately north of Chapinero. Yes, the buildings in the hills above Avenida 7 are considered a very desirable place to live with excellent restaurants and amenities. As for guests, this topic has been covered to death here. The vast majority of hotels will charge for overnight guests. Find out the fee in advance. Some exceptions to the rule have been shared here. If you want total access, it's Airbnb/VRBO for you and expect mandatory registration of all guests with the doorman/security. You may luck out on a building without that, but it is to your benefit as has been discussed previously. If you absolutely cannot abide either option, there are tons of love motels in the zona and multiple sauna options. FWIW When in Bogotá I stay either in upper Chapinero or in the Parque Virrey neighbourhoods. I also walk frequently alone at night because I know the city and the different barrios. For a first-time visitor, use Uber or Indriver and stay safe. Enjoy! young11 and floridarob 1 1 Quote

Members young11 Posted May 7 Members Posted May 7 Thanks so chapigay is basically Chapinero close to Parque de los Hippies? around that area any recs for saunas and massage places where I can hire? I know saunas in Colombia are not like the ones in Brazil but I am trying to find some ways to hire easily without involving any online hiring first. I read a few places for strip clubs in other forums but couldn't get recent extensive info about Bogota Quote
Members macdaddi Posted May 12 Members Posted May 12 @Young11 Yes. Chapigay is literally how the locals refer to the neighbourhood. Chapigay colloquially is the barrio within Chapinero where all of the gay saunas, bars, discos and restaurants can be found. Chapinero barrio is everything between Calle 72 (to the north) to Calle 26 (south), and between Calle 1 (above in the the hills) to Avenida Cra 30 which is technically the main North - South transportation conduit in the city (and where the new metro line is being built). Chapigay zona is a much more condensed. You can focus on the area between Calle 66 in the north to Calle 58 Bis (precisely the street entrance to Theatrón) in the south. Everything is located between Carrera 13 and Carrera 7 to the West and East respectively. So if you book something within walking distance to these locators, you will be just fine. To be fair, there are other places outside of this neighbourhood, but this should be enough to keep you busy for a first tour. For fun I searched Google for a map of Chapigay to get you started. https://www.google.com/maps/search/chapigay+bogota/@4.6432589,-74.0606375,16z/data=!3m1!4b1?entry=ttu The best resource for events-bars-saunas is the Guia Gay Colombia but it is only available in español https://www.guiagaycolombia.com/ Good luck with your planning. floridarob, Mavica, Latbear4blk and 1 other 3 1 Quote
floridarob Posted May 12 Posted May 12 This is my 2nd trip in as many months....I've not felt a need to go anywhere...Grindr and Mileroticos has kept me more than busy....the guys I've met for 70k-140k don't seem to be in a rush. We hang out, drink, play sex games and fuck like crazy...no off fees, sauna entrance fees, blah, blah blah......only pain in the ass is registering them at the front desk, but it's worth it for safety, especially the 1st time meeting someone. Members asdsrfr Posted May 12 Members Posted May 12 I like staying in Chapinero--but other friends like fancier neighborhoods. One should be aware that staying in Chapinero the weekends near the clubs can be quite noisy. I love to have a good time but when I want to sleep--I want to sleep. In general up the hill in Chapinero will be quieter but still within walking distance of the clubs. Mavica 1 Quote
