Guest buckeroo2 Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Hi GT; Thanks for the great updates and the insights into what it's like to have such an adventure. It sounds like you have converted your BF to an enthusiastic biker. BTW all the pictures from the ride are blank with a small red "x" in the upper left hand corner. Is it just my connection? Once again, thanks for letting us have a taste of Thailand that is very different from the places I have visited. all the best Yep, all the pics are gone and replaced with red X's on my screen as well Quote
Bob Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Bob, the white temple was right outside the last city we were in for the night. I'll try to find the name for you. Thanks, GT. Yes, I'd like to know as it looks like a place to try to see if one is in the area. A lvdkeyes mentioned, there's another white temple (Wat Roong Koon) just south of Chiangrai that is rather spectacular and worth a visit. I've been there a few times (and would post a photo but nothing seems to be working here at the moment). Edit - just to see if I can post the photo now.... Yea, it works! Quote
Guest Oogleman Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 GT - hope you dont mind. I made this for those who want to see the pics again. Your bf might like it also - can email it to his friends etc. Quote
Guest lazarus Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I do enjoy Pattaya and have a good time when I am there but you are right, there is so much to see in LOS that it is a real waste to just sit in the same seat in the same bar night after night waiting for a bar to open and find the newest face. I have friends that do this and it suits them well as they are retired and settled into a life of leisure. I just prefer more variety. And honestly I met some of the sexiest guys on this trip and got to see some great sights. Normally I sit in my rocker and read the forums and not get involved in commenting. But the above quote did get me to take a little action. Not sure your age Mr. GT but it sounds as if you are under 40 yo? Am I about right? Many of the retirees are far older than that and may lack in health, wealth and are restricted by old age from a more vigorous life. A limited budget is constraing; failing health, disabilities and medical conditons become our binds. But, although older now,we were young once and did indulge in activies as climbing mountains, descending into canyons, crawling through caves, skying, surfing, swimming, soldering, activites you may have not yet done. So don't feel sorry for us, we are not wasting our time, we are enjoying it in a way that suit us best. And we always have the posts of your adventures to remind us of what we are missing, or perhaps revive the memories of our own adventures? Quote

I enjoy sitting in the bars and watching the world go by. I love it. I just need to do more from time to time. I wasn't trying to knock anyone who sits and waits for the newest guys. I enjoy that too. I just think that for me, I need to do more. That does not mean that you need to do more. What is good for me may not be good for you and vice versa. Life is an adventure. I love to explore different things and at one point spent almost a year in Pattaya sitting nightly at a local beer bar and excited for the next wave of guys from Isan. I enjoyed it then and I still do. I just want do do more right now. I am sure I'll join you in your rocker before too long. BTW: I don't feel sorry for anyone who lives year round in LOS. I envy them. I sure as hell don't feel sorry for anyone living in paradise. Oogleman: loved the YouTube video. Thanks. The music was perfect and I also loved your scrolling words. The trike is like my baby as you can tell. Thanks for the great updates and the insights into what it's like to have such an adventure. Once again, thanks for letting us have a taste of Thailand that is very different from the places I have visited. all the best Thanks. I appreciate it very much. Isan did remind me of my childhood in Alabama. There are many similar things about it and it did bring back a flood of memories for me. Quote

Guest fountainhall Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I'll happily join - but only as the official butt masseur! I haven't been near a bike for decades - except when one knocked me down 10 days ago! Quote

Wouldn't mind seeing that in tight speedos. If so, I will come along as Fountainhall's eager stand-by. Quote
