I have spent time in LOS quite a bit and have many friends who have a "boyfriend" here that is going on longer than 10 years. That is a good length of time and I am always impressed when I hear someone that stays together that long.

I have been with Current BF for 5 years and don't think it will end anytime soon. But, you never know. I work hard to make it work and I am sure he works even harder. Most of my "flings" here last a few months to a year but not any longer than the current guy.

Horrors! I just voted and discovered that I seem to be the only true-blue butterfly here! And we Chinese say that the older a man gets, the itchier his pants become...

Nai and I just passed the six month catagory. It is certainly not the easiest relationship to maintain due to the age and culture differences, but we try hard and hopefully it will last a long time.

I went with "Currently Unattached but looking." Actually I'm somewhere between that and butterfly. I like being a butterfly and I'm not really looking, but if the right guy comes along, I can see myself establishing a relationship again.

It would be difficult, though. Most people say a relationship takes a lot of work. I'm really not interested in that kind of work any more. Not at my stage of the game. It's just not something I am really seeking.

We met almost 17 years ago - was long distance for 10 years and living together here full time for almost 7 years now -- yes, it can be difficult, but fortunately only a few bumps along the way.

Wichan and I met 2 1/2 years ago and he moved in with me a year ago next month. After my previous relationship ended, I had said I would never have a bf live with me again. A now-deceased friend used to say, "Wise people often change their mind, but fools never do." Wichan and I get along so well with no drama. I am glad I was wise enough to change my mind.

I am impressed. This must be some sort of record!

2-5 years for me.

The poll results surprise the hell out of me. Thought there'd be many more butterflys and unattached.

It surprises the hell out of me as well. Some very long and very lasting relationships.

One of the reasons I was curious is the BF and I had a long chat and he asked why I still loved him after so many years even though many others have come and gone through this time. I tried to explain to him that he was special and that the history we have together often trumps a great roll in the hey for a night. I do off many others when I am in LOS and have had other guys with me for anywhere from 1-3 years but the main guy has been consistent for me for many years and will always hold a special place in my heart. He finishes his high school this year and I am trying to talk him into University in USA. As he is now in his mid twenties, I am sure he thinks more about his future than he did when we first met. I did not even broach the subject of University on this trip but he asked if he could still come to USA with me for school.

I am curious for those of you that are in long term relationships, are you monogamous?

Yes, if I wanted to play I would not be in a relationship. I guess I am old fashion...or antique

Hmmmm......I think I'll take the fifth (preferably Sangsom). Let's put it this way, I've momentarily strayed substantially less than once a year for the 9 years I've known him. And I'm not so sure that a quick roll in the hay or a massage with happy ending is necessarily a breach of the relationship; regardless, I must admit that those rare events are not discussed.

Since my bf moved in with me we have been monogamous and plan to stay that way.

Not a butterfly but neither a saint. The temptations of the flesh can be overpowering at times.

8 years. I sometimes picked up a boy at gogo bar or massage place but everytime I had a night with them I found there is no one more than my BS. It was 4 or 5 years ago. Now I do not look for any other guy even just for one night entertainment.

Over 9 years together, and totally open after the first 2 years. Monogamy is for the birds and straight people IMHO.
