Baht Bus Routes

I rely on baht buses to get around in Pattaya but have no idea as to where they go. Is there a baht bus route map I can get somewhere? How do I get from the Boathouse bakery near Boyztown to Pattaya Bus Terminal? I know I have to make a switch at some point.

First, it's the Boat Bakery, not Boathouse.

Take a baht bus north to the Dolphin Roundabout. If you're lucky, he'll turn right and go up North Road (Pattaya Nua) to the bus terminal. If not, you'll have to get off the bus and take another one that goes up Pattaya Nua.

You could also just hire a baht bus to take you there. It should cost about 150 baht.

Baht Bus routes, Hah Hah Hah

Not in Pattaya. Even when they are on a main route, they still do whatever they please, and end their run whenever they wish, and you are still supposed to pay.

These people must have a rudeness test when they are hired.

Amazing how cheap transit in Bangkok is compared with that in Pattaya.

Thank you gaybutton.

Shebavon, having somewhat of an ample frame, I have no choice but to use the baht buses as I don't feel too comfortable on the motorcycle taxis.

Busses with a white stripe are more likely to go to Jomtien. Here's a pic if I'm not over my space limit.

But not always. The last time I was on a baht bus going toward Jomtien the driver decided to turn onto Theppasit Rd because "too much traffic". The bus had the white stripe. So, it's all up to the driver to go where ever he wants unless you charter.

The main route is (from Beach Road), onto South Pattaya Road, turn left onto 2nd road, turn left at the Dolphin Roundabout and over Beach Road back to South Pattaya road.

There are also 'routes' from Sukhumvit towards beachroad via North Pattaya Road, Central Pattaya Road, South Pattaya Road and Thepprasit Road. All these routes (apart from the Thepprasit route end up at the main route.

There is also a route from Dolphin Roundabout up North towards Naklua and the last one is from South Pattaya Road to Jomtien.

Apart from the main route, all routes go v.v.

If you would like to go from Boat Bakery on 2nd road:

take a short walk to South Pattaya road, take a Song Taew to Sukhumvit and change Song Taew. A white Song Taew will take you pretty close to the North Pattaya Busstation.

Song Taew drivers are as unpredictable as ....... yes if what?

The best (and most expensive) is to tell the dirver where you would like to go and he will bring you there, but make the deal before you leave. Anywhere in Pattaya should be not more than THB 150, across Sukhumvit-destinations: THB 250-THB 300 and from Central Pattaya to Jomtien or Naklua not more than THB 250. If you make a deal like that, the driver is not allowed to pick up other passengers. If he does, divide the agreed fee by the number of passengers, but usually the driver won't pick up other people on the way to your destination.
