PattayaMale Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Received a email from Travel Zoo which said there was a new flight search engine at Fly.com. I tried it and liked it because of all the different ways to filter the prices. If you want just want premium economy, it filters just those cabin types Quote
Guest gwm4sian Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Mmmmm, not sure how good it is. Was looking for a flight to Hong Kong, used the sire above and cheapest quoted was 290US$ from Emirates, with Cathay Pacific at 512US$ Double checked on the CX website, and was quoted US272 for the same flight, cheaper than anything fly.com had. Guest fountainhall Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Mmmmm, not sure how good it is Not good at all! I checked BKK to Singapore because I know Cathay Pacific has a cheap ticket for its one daily flight. fly.com quotes cheapest economy ticket at US$794!! Not sure if this includes taxes etc., but even if it does, it is daylight robbery compared to Cathay where the roundtrip ticket can be purchased on its website at Bt. 4,500 + Bt. 1,930 in taxes! That said, I know of very few US or European based websites that can give the cheapest inter-Asian fares. They are usually better at transcontinental fares from their own countries. Quote
Bob Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I too checked it out and found better deals directly on a specific airline's website. Quote
Guest jtrack33 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I tried on the UK route and discovered a cheap option at about Bht27,000 round trip using some Indian budget airline via Bombay with reasonable transit times. But to Australia, the fares are definitely higher than some airlines web pages. But it does vary from day to day greatly. It seemed to me to be cheaper for last minute flights and I will certainly check it in future...thanks for the reference PattayaMale. Quote
