Guest fountainhall Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Som thoughts. Gore Vidal: A Memoir - Point to Point Navigation wonderfully written with lots of gossip about all those luminaries he knows John Cornwell: Hitler's Pope - The Sceret History of Pius XII reads like the best thrillers around Colin Thubron: Shadow of the Silk Road probably the best travel writer today about his travels from China to the Mediterranean Paul Theroux: The Great Railway Bazaar superb account of travelling by train from London to Japan with great insights, including an unexpected encounter with a ladyboy in Bangkok Paul Strathearn: The Medici - Godfathers of the Renaissance fascinating insight into the Renaissance and the rise of Florence Quote

I ordered both on my Kindle. The others were not offered on it yet. I really wanted to read: Paul Strathearn: The Medici - Godfathers of the Renaissance but, it is not available on the Kindle yet either. I hope it is soon as it sounds wonderful. Thanks for the advice on these! Quote
