Guest taylorsquare Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Over the years of going/staying at the Ambience hotel in boyztown,i have always remembered the friendly security guard that used to walk around. Dont know if anyone remembers him,but he was probaly in his 50 s ,been there for yonks, always wore his baseball security cap, skinny guy. On my last visit he wasn?t there,on asking the waiter said he was "gone". Quote

Guest gayaffairs Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 If this is the guy you mean he is still there, well he was Thursday (May 7) night. This was taken at the Snow in Boyz Town Christmas Event 2008. Visit My Website Quote

Guest laurence Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 He was very vigilant about doing his job of keeping under 18 yo from getting into Ambiance that is for sure. I really do wonder how anyone can "retire" in Thailand without things like social security and pensions. I suppose that is what children are for in your old age. Quote
Guest taylorsquare Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 No,he s not the one. Yes lol the other Security guy was very dedicated to his job and checked id s well. He was also very friendly. Wish him well in his retirement,maybe........he met a rich farang and eloped . Quote
Guest FanOfThailand Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I heard that he took some money and fled with one of the maids. Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I heard that he took some money and fled with one of the maids. I hope that's not the case. He worked there for many years and did not seem to be the type to do that sort of thing. Quote
Guest Geezer Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 The curse of a geriatric memory. About a month ago I talked with the current security guard and asked what happened to the older guy. I don’t recall his answer, but it was something prosaic/unmemorable, like retired (surely not -- too young), went to work some place else, etc. I stayed at the Ambiance for quite a while and we became well acquainted. (No, not that way.) He was always helpful. Even years later he invariably greeted me with a smile and warm words. Quote
Guest PattayaPlayers Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 As I understand it, he got into some heavy debt and had to leave the area. This came from a reliable source, but I am not at liberty to discuss it further. I also always enjoyed him and found him to be extremely helpful and professional. Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 In other words, there are all kinds of different versions of the story. As for which one is the right one, take your pick. It doesn't really matter. For whatever reason, he's gone and that's that. Quote
