Guest buckeroo2 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Used a GSB ATM yesterday on 2nd road just north of South Pattaya road - no fee. Also the UOB ATM's are fee free still. I am looking for another GSB ATM machine - can you be a little more specific for those of us who are directionally challenged. Where on 2nd Rd is the GSM machine - ? Walking towards Boyztown from S. Pattaya Rd? Which side of the street? Any help is greatly appreciated. Quote

To help you get your bearings Jomtien Beach is south of Boyztown and Royal Garden Plaza is north. Pattaya Beach is west of 2nd Road. Quote

I guess I do understand north - maybe I am not so directionally challenged - I know that I go on 2nd rd in the direction of pattaya klang and naklua - I am heading north - just not so sure where the GSB ATM is located - glad to know I was thinking in the right direction Quote

Thanks - I managed to locate the GSB ATM on Second Rd.today. It is on the opposite side of the road after Pattayaland Soi 1 - just past the Welcome Hotel. The machine worked with my ATM card - no problem like I had at the GSB ATM Tukcom location yesterday. The receipt said no fee was charged and I was paid at an exchange rate of 34.14. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I used my US ATM today at UOB. There was no fee, but the $ is sinking. I got $34.02. Quote

Following an announcement of the UOB bank on March 19th , they charge a 150 baht fee for overseas ATM cards , but maybe the software of the machines are not yet updated . http://www.uob.co.th/announcement/bankfee/...9Mar2009_en.pdf Rene Quote

Guest jtrack33 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 34.02 is good $ at UOB. Seems they don't take anything for dollars yet. But 2 days ago when I tried UOB with my Nationwide (UK) atm, also there was no mention of a fee with the option to cancel. But the exchange rate was 53.9 for sterling when the par rate on BBL's web page showed the exchange rate of 55.5 par (buy54.5, sell 56.5) at the time. Effectively it meant I had paid 3% for the transaction. I know that Nationwide now charge 1% for use overseas so that leaves 2% for UOB. The overall 3% was on a Bht5,000 withdrawal....or about Bht150. But as I said, Nationwide take 1% or Bht50 and that only leaves Bht100 for UOB. I had tried GSB but unfortunately, they don't include Cirrus and Nationwide is Cirrus Quote
