I'm glad you found a guy you liked, but surprised you expected him to be verbally proficient as well. The guy is not English or Australian. He's a construction worker in a foreign country with clearly little ability in English.

Can I suggest that before your next trip you get someone (preferably big and butch) to pre-record on your phone your requested phrases while in the act.  Then all you need to do is set it to play each time! You should be in seventh heaven!

It reminds me of a time decades ago when I was escorting a large group to Japan. My assistant was Hong Kong Chinese and spoke excellent English, although obviously with a bit of a Chinese accent. Went into Jomtien today ,this breakfast at SINTS cafe cost 115baht about $4 ,just near Tinnies pies 

Try getting a big breaky like that in Australia for $4 ! Add another $20

that is what I don't like about apps, one doesn't know who shows at the door although I haste to say with me very limited experience those few times I used Grindr looks vise guys were more or less acceptable and matching their pics. As for performance - full game from excellent to bit disappointing, I'd say all the same like bar boys.

It specialises in Aussie style meat pies which I must say are very expensive by Australian prices almost double 175 baht but...I love my meat pies so had to try them.

Ended up having pie ,peas and mashed potato,I think the English people actually have mushy peas when they have this?🦚

But anyway not cheap at 275b  but cheaper than Australia

 So if your after real Aussie meat pies these are quite good ,very crispy though 

Bit disappointed to see the Sydney Harbour bridge in there As I see it everyday 😅

just on a side note an old dude came over to me when I was taking pics and asked me if he was in them??? 😲 Nope I said ,why would you be? Paranoia?🙄

not necessarily paranoia, just sensible precautions. One never knows where pics will be posted and who will see them. Perhaps he told folks at home he is visiting ailing old school friend in Atlanta and doesn't want to be shown being far from it. World is small place, we all learned it many times.

Pie, peas mash and gravy is a standard in the UK. Or switch the mash out for chips!

I learned how to make a great sausage roll during a trip to the UK. (As you would expect, since sausage is kinda my thing 😋). My fellow Americans are still a little perplexed by it but they do enjoy it...and some now request it. I have mostly broken them of the habit to slather the roll in catchup. It's a battle!
