How to ask a boy to take a hiv test?

Did something foolish yesterday night, now I'm worried. I'm not on prep now so i went to get pep at the red cross this afternoon. But I'm thinking is it possible to get the boy to take a home hiv test for peace of mind. I have the test kits and I'm willing to tip him to take the test.

Best is to just ask directly since u did just had bareback sex i assume. Worst case scenario, the boy decline.

Very much doubt you caught HIV unless you have cuts on your Willy which will be a much a minute chance 

Anyway even if you do find out he is Hiv poz you still have to wait 3 months for a test and if you have no symptoms there's no treatment so I'm not sure why your finding it so urgent ?

Doesnt sounds like you are doing high risk activity, hiv are very unlikely to pass outside the body.

I guess I'm just paranoid. Usually I'm more careful and since i dun like anal sex, i never tot of getting prep. I got pep just in case. So if he is indeed poz, i took the first dose within 24 hours.

Foolish, stop the worrying, you took PEP so you will be ok no matter what.  If the boy is HIV+ that is his problem and you had nothing to do with it.

Sounds very low risk. I’d be more worried about getting the pep, as they recommend you get your gfr ( kidney function) results upon completion. 
 

I took pep half a year ago as there was blood involved. I tried to get the boy to get tested but he never showed.

I found the boy and he agreed to take the test cos he want to know too. But the result is not conclusive, so he will go for a proper test and will update me. 

Just to make it clear, I don't blame him, it's just bad luck. He is a very sweet person but he made some bad choices in his personal life.

Sorry to hear this. I too have a very low gfr. I never thought about it till the doctor mentioned it when I was taking pep. My regular doc suggested I take the hiv preventative meds for my lifestyle but knew it was rough on the kidneys. Besides, I rarely bottom, so no need for it.

Now I’m transitioning to a bottom as I’m older. So I’ll be careful using condoms and maybe get whoever I have sex with tested.

So many things damage kidneys, high blood pressure and diabetes the top two, also smoking and alcohol, lack of sleep, lack of excercise, too much weight lifting, consuming red meat, phosphorus ingredients found in coke, dairy products, dyes used in cat scans, medicines,avocados, bananas, artificial sweeteners, etc. well some of these only if you already have ckd.

im limiting drinking to one night a week. And my diet is restricted. I’m friends with a nephrologist who recommends sodium bicarbonate to neutralize acidity. Not taking that yet.

All of the above, I haven't been kind to my organs, the only regrets are some of the things I didn't do , none of what I've done.....when it's my time, I'll leave with a smile 😉

Listen your your doctors, take their cures and in meantime prepare mentally for just hand holding sessions with odd boy here and there

We are all going eventually, not sure how old you are but if your close to 80 I would say enjoy life whilst you can 😅👍

I'd say enjoy your life whilst you can - whatever your age. Like many my worry as I aged has always been health. What if something should happen requiring major surgery and long term care? I have had friends, sadly most no longer alive, with all manner of medical ailments which have severely hampered their ability to enjoy life. One was so severely overstressed, his body just gave out. So I now realise the important thing is to know your medical situation and, as it were, enjoy life around that.

For years I have had a minor medical ailment in my digestive sytem that requires a course of medication every 6-8 months or so. When I had no choice but change insurance policies, this being a pre-exisiting condition was not covered. So with funds being tight, I enrolled at the public King Chulalongkorn Hospital across from Lumphini Park. I cannot stress enough that the doctor I see there is fantastic. She spends three days a week in public hospitals and three in expensive private ones. Sure, the facilities are not up to the standard of Bumrungrad or BNH and waiting lines are considerably longer. But when her consultation fee is 200 baht and the facilities charge 50 baht compared to 1,600 and 350 at Bumrungrad, I'll happily put up with some incoveniences.

When I first consulted her and went through my history, she decided she wanted a second opinion. She had me do a CT scan which had never been recommended at Bumrungrad. That threw up a cyst on the pancreas. Knowing how deadly pacreatic cancer can be, that scared me. She reassured me it was small but fractionally larger than she was comfortable with and so had me do an MRI to check if there was anything underneath it. Since then I have had 3 more MRI scans at 6 monthly intervals and I've now had two on an annual basis. Nothing has been found and next year should be my last MRI. I estimate the cost of the various scans has been well under a fifth of that at a private hospital. Prior to each scan, a cheap kidney function test has been required. Thankfully, no problems.

At the end of this month I have an appointment with a Professor of Retinology about removing the start of cataracts and repairing a tear in one of my retinas that I have had for 25 years. The cost will again be less than a fifth of that quoted 6 months ago at Rutnin Eye Hospital.

I did splash out at the start of last year when BNH offered 65% off certain procedures like colonoscopy, gastroscopy, heart MRI and carotid artery unltrasound. Having been certain that with my lifestyle and work-related stress, my heart would not be in prime condition. I did the lot and got a completely clean bill of heath. That cheered me up no end.

So far, therefore, medical conditions have not stopped me enjoying life to the full. And I know that with luck my body is unlikely to crack up any time soon. Like @floridarob though, if I should be run over by that bus tomorrow, I know I would take my leave of the world with a smile on my face. There are a dozen or more guys already up there I'll be delighted to see again. On the other hand, if the trapdoor were to open, there are likely to be a lot more down there that I guess I'd rather not see again LOL.

Not anymore.  You can go to the Pulse Clinic next to the Sala Daeng BTS station and take a 4th generation HIV test, which only has a 16 day waiting period.
