I am planning to start my business in Thailand hopefully by December. This will ofcourse be a gay bar but I am planning to get Models from different nationality such as Morroco, South Korea, Japan, Philippines and Africa. Also on  tge second floor, im planning to have a good rooms for those who want to do ST.

 

Do you think this will be a good idea? Im also open for partnership but lets talk personally on Bangkok. I already talk to one Thailand nationality so this busoness will surely happens. Just plotting everything we need.

Thai immigration are known for issuing work permits to nationals of Morroco, South Korea, Japan, Philippines and Africa to work in bars and short time rooms. It's just a formality. Really. It's not a protected profession only available to Thai nationals. 🤣

Visas won't be your problem, assuming you're serious and this isn't your idea of a fun way to get people falling for a hoax.  The problem would be work permits, which you definitely can forget about.  You know why I don't believe a word you wrote?  Because unless you are a total moron, you already would be working with a Thai attorney who absolutely would have made it clear that you're not going to legally hire foreign bar boys.  The police would probably shut you down the day you open.

What makes you think customers would give a damn about what countries the boys come from?  Bar customers care about how the boys look and how they behave.

Maybe I'm wrong and if it turns out I am, then I'll post a public apology, but I smell a hoax here - a Bad Boy Billy type of hoax.

If you have no experience in running a business in hospitality and have no knowledge of local practices and law, well... just buy a barrel and burn your baht because it will be less stress with the same outcome.

Your post history indicates you're pretty new to Thailand and don't have much understanding of the economics of the bar scene, is that right?
it's fun to dream but it sounds like you're wasting your time. You might want to spend some time in the country and at existing venues to learn how things work before even starting to work on a business plan.

Your Idea is absolutely ridiculous,the police will shut down your business the day you open and you might end in jail, believe me the Thai prison isn't a Hilton room . The Thai nationality person 'potential partner' you are speaking about is well aware of that and he's probably a crook be sure he knows that your business Idea is illegal but it's a big opportunity for him to take your money and disappear.

Totally agree. The current customers are happy enough with the many handsome Thai, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodian and Vietnamese guys at bars now.

I find it hard to believe that the OP is serious. There are so many legal issues involved, it shouldn't even take any research to be skeptical about its viability. Consequently, and I don't mean to offend, my first reaction was that it was just meant to get a rise out of other readers.

I found the OP's idea so strange, I just had to do some digging. June 7, 2023 was when the OP made his first post in this forum. He - I assume it's a he - said:

My generous interpretation, if the idea was actually serious, is that it's a temporary flight of fancy that sometimes happens to folks on their first trip to Bangkok. Newbies have been known to be mesmerised by the city's offerings, yet dissatisfied because the scene doesn't completely live up to their fantasies. So as soon as the trip is over (or even before) plans are made to out-do the bars that exist. In this case, we can see from this member's post on June 14 (topic: Celebrity encounter) that the fantasy is that of buying the services of celebrities.

Do you have any experience hiring famous model or celebrity in Bangkok? I mean i dont mind paying 10-20k baht just to have one night with them. 

Naturally, the necessary caution should be to not imagine that there are enough of others with similar tastes (or pockets) to make a market for a business. Jaded old-timers here have seen many a foreigner lose money by the bucketloads setting up bars and businesses to feed their personal fantasy rather than based on a hard-headed business plan. Please don't be the next one.
