I suppose both, but among the veterans it’s a shrinking group who’ve managed to maintain their cheerful attitudes with consistently good service.

Lately I find myself seeking out newcomers who, one of whom I as luckily to find this week who immediately got himself added to repeat list. 

The one thing the repeaters have in common is that they don’t haggle.

As I reported some months ago in another similar thread, I had to let go of a previously excellent diamond who got into banking problems within the Thai banking system and consequently I had to cut my contact with him and I even had to have the security team bar him from having access.

So, he was definitely a diamond that lost its allure after almost 18 months of wonderful meetings with him.

1. Be consistent 

2. Be cheerful 

3. Be affectionate 

4. Don’t rush it

5. Don’t expect customers to solve your financial management problems

and number 5 is the most annoying.  They wait until they gain your trust and "friendship" and then --> WHAM (out of the blue) - the financial management woes raise their ugly head.  These guys are the most difficult to distance from.  The ones who raise their financial woes at the beginning are easy to eliminate - but after you get close to them and gain their trust - then it can become dramatic and painful.
