But, when laziness kicks in, even the shortest trips can feel like a Himalayan trek! It’s all about perception. Walking to Prince, knowing there's a high probability of a great session waiting for you, suddenly doesn't feel like a chore at all. Verchiele Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I often wonder, with the regular price just costing 400-500 baht anyway, why bother even packaging it up as bulk deal. Is the clientele of Saphan Khwai shops are that price sensitive to 100baht? This type of marketing doesnt seem to make sense to me. If anything, they can try to upmarket the boys- better photo, etc. Quote

This type of marketing doesnt seem to make sense to me. Given that Saphan Khwai shops originally catered to local clients—and I believe a significant portion of their current business still comes from local patrons—the 100 THB savings per session can be a good deal for them. However, for more transient customers like us, this may not offer optimal value. vinapu and Verchiele 2 Quote

On a few occasions, I recognized some repeat customers going to of from showers so it appears the savings does make a difference. Although some of the SK guys could hold their own vs the tonier spas, the majority fall into guy-next-door category and that suits me just fine. I think at least half of the bars do a good job of posting photos and particulars. I usually come for two-month visits so the discounts I found useful. On last trip purchased three promotions at Phetboy alone. Very satisfied with results and savings. Verchiele, vinapu, splinter1949 and 1 other 4 Quote
Verchiele Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I am seeing that many boys are actually available at multiple stores (Kman, Phet, Home, One, Gbeat). So, which leads to next question - which one has better facilities? Based on my research, Gbeat > One (VIP) > Home (VIP) > Phet > Kman .. I think first thing is not to have bed on the floor….and also washroom in the room would be a huge plus…. Quote

It may be counter-intuitive, but from my experience with Saphan Khwai places, I would go for the opposite priorities: mattress on the floor and bathrooms down the corridor. Massage tables are essential if one is hoping to get a good quality massage; the table ensures that the therapist has good posture as he works on your body and is thus able to deliver the strokes correctly - by this I mean massage strokes in the Western massage tradition. The Thai massage tradition is oil-free and has too much spot-pressing, which I dislike. At the Saphan Khwai shops, except for one occasion I have never had a boy with trained technique, so a massage table is pointless. The downside of massage tables is that they are narrow and thus quite restrictive when it comes to playtime. A floor mattress allows arms and legs to spill out onto the adjacent floor without fear of falling off. Since the point of going to Saphan Khwai is playtime rather than massage, I would choose a floor mattress room instead of a massage table room in that locality. In other places with good massage technique I would choose the opposite. Note: Some places have queen-sized beds instead of massage tables or floor mattresses. One Spa's VIP rooms come to mind, as do Senso's rooms (but the latter shop is in Silom, not Saphan Khwai). If a room in Saphan Khwai has a shower stall ensuite, it is likely to be 0.9 x 0.9m, too small for two persons. If one uses the bathroom down the corridor, there is a good chance of the boy joining you there. splinter1949, vinapu, bkkmfj2648 and 2 others 5 Quote

I just read your magically massage review and it did crack me up for the night 😂 While I have you here - wanted to pick your brain type 2 shops (TCS, Wabi Sabi) with the review often mentioned that B2B / Super Soft is often offered midway. Since I dont speak thai, do you think its a good idea to use Google translate in the beginning to say something along the line - “if there is “enhancement” at the end, I want to try” … not wanting to sound overly blunt, yet dont want to miss in case there is opportunity Quote
bkkmfj2648 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I know that this question is not for me - but 85% to 90% of the time they understand when they see your boner. if because you are nervous during the massage and you are not fully erect yet - you can: make your semi hard dick jump underneath the towel to get the masseurs attention, make sensual subtle groaning noises whenever his hands are near your groin, balls, or belly button, or if you are feeling brave - you can just grab his hand and put it on your cock - worst he can do is say no - but sometimes that no is artificial because it was not said with a number (i.e. 500 baht, 1,000 baht, etc.). Since I dont speak thai, do you think its a good idea to use Google translate in the beginning to say something along the line - “if there is “enhancement” at the end, I want to try” … not wanting to sound overly blunt, yet dont want to miss in case there is opportunity I rarely read reviews; I don't totally trust them seeing how they are sometimes generated (coming article on ShamelessMack expands on this). As background, if it's my first session at what looks like a Type 2 place, I generally let things take their natural course. I am mostly interested in seeing what happens, what is offered to me without prompting. That way, I can be surer whether it is a Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3. Most of the time, if it is a Type 2, nothing "unprofessional" happens during the session. I get a good massage and then Thank you very much, good bye, see you again soon. If it's my second or subsequent time at what I now know (after a first experience) to be a Type 2, I generally adopt this protocol: Since Type 2 places almost always require advance booking over Line anyway, then in the Line conversation, I typically shortlist to the manager 3 or 4 guys I like and ask: 1. "Are these boys available for [Date] and [Time]?" 2. "Do these boys know how to do body-to-body massage?" (Please be direct, don't use euphemisms like "enhancement" as Google Translate may foul up the translation.) The replies you get will vary. Some managers are clear; others are vague. If they are a clear "Yes they can do," then I follow up with the question: 3. "What is the minimum tip for body-to-body massage?" Regardless of what the reply from the manager is, clear or vague, I will also ask the chosen boy when we are in the room and before the massage begins, 4. "Can do body-to-body-massage afterwards?" (Google Translate may be needed depending on the boy). I ask the boy directly in the room because (a) managers often do not communicate customers' advance requests to the boys, and (b) I want to make sure he is willing to do it even if the manager has said yes*. I hope the above step-by-step guide is helpful. -- * An example of what can happen, see this recent post by @tvkahani : vinapu and Verchiele 1 1 Quote

At One Spa, standard rooms share shower/toilet rooms down the hall. But the VIP rooms are spacious and come with massage table and shower/toilet that's fine for two. One Spa also has bedrooms available on the upper floors for long-time rentals. One Spa's list of masseurs can be found at https://dif.link/onespa KK Massage has shower/toilet rooms down the hall and, while narrow, can accommodate two. Home Spa probably has the least desirable showers, none of which I recall encourage sharing. bkkmfj2648 and Verchiele 2 Quote

I would be very curious to see you expand on that thought. I agree to take these reviews with grain of salt primarily because they rate anyone with lowest score of 4/5 or 7.5/10. I mean, if that's the baseline I take that as reliable as Google review of 4/5 which isn't much - average at best. They also often collaborated and/or inform the store which is at times function of necessity because they take pictures of facility and masseurs. At the very least the masseur would be aware that they are being reviewed which tilt the bias toward more "curated" experience. Looking forward to your post on this subject. Quote
